By scripting I meant the fact that a lot of his videos that showed off his incredible Minecraft skills were scripted/rehearsed, not just the drop rate thing. There's no doubt he's actually good at Minecraft (and in fact, the best speedrun cheaters are often great players without cheating) but that his entire celebrity status comes from an ego that exists on things that were fake. It doesn't really MATTER to the people that follow him, but damn.

At some point, you would think he would just be able to take a step back and say "yeah, I changed drop rates to make more entertaining videos" or "yes, some of my videos are scripted but we're just making them for fun and entertainment!" But no, his ego wouldn't allow him to be anything but the greatest Minecraft player who ever lived, and also an anime twink.



The funny thing is, I remember Twitter going absolutely insane simping over "Dream's" hands when he posted that photo of his brother petting his cat, and that merchandise advertising post.

Once you've built your whole identity around your idealized twink streamer Dream having sex with other idealized twink streamer Corpse, its hard to reel it in and just accept that your obsession with them initially evolved from them being good at a video game. My younger sister is, unfortunately a Corpse stan herself so I know the mentality all too well. The initial audience might've just been in it for his perceived ability to play minecraft, but the obsessive stans are those who have fallen in love with the mystique of his persona.

Not only are they getting defensive about their size, but they're also brazenly denying the source of the images. However, saying that they would naturally tell their parents to remove photos of them from Facebook raises more questions than it answers, since typically people don't try to monitor their parents' FB and force them to remove any pictures of their children. Perhaps he's sensitive about pictures for another reason, such as that he's ashamed of his appearance.

Though apparently he didn't, so this seems to be mostly a matter of regret.

I still think the strangest part of this story to me is that the best source of information we had on Dream, prior to this dox being confirmed, was his ex-girlfriend Sammy. She leaked that New York picture of Dream, claimed he was 400 pounds, and also claimed some things about him cheating on her.

But as it turns out, she is a child predator, groomer, emotional manipulator, and pretty much the most unreliable narrator. Her history following her dating Dream is basically a cavalcade of horrors and lies, but at the very least, we know that she wasn't lying about Dream's weight and that the picture she shared of him was actually him.

So while literally anything she says has to be taken with a grain of heaping of salt, will always wonder if anything else she alleged about Dream from the time they were dating is true.

And if anything else, it's not like Dream is himself the most reliable narrator either, but at least he isn't a child groomer. At worst, he just enabled/ignored one.
