I remember it had something about the daughter's pad sticking to the pubic hair. I don't know what she was doing wrong, but that's a weird thing unless she was applying to the pad wrong. She said it was more comfortable for her daughter.

There's absolutely no way that a properly-applied menstrual pad would get stuck to someone's pubic hair unless they have an Amazon Rainforest for a bush. Unless the mother was putting it on upside down or was completely and utterly incompetent, it simply doesn't make sense. They're specifically designed to not snag pubes.

Depending on the definition of disabled, we have several possibilities
-Autism: Autistic kids are incapable of sitting still for a haircut. I can't imagine how mangled her private area is.
-Severely disabled: That'll be like autism, but much much worse. Poor kid might've had to be strapped down for it to happen.
-Vegetable: Now, that's just taking advantage of a child that can't even move on her own. That's incredibly suspicious.

All three possibilities are horrifying, and the horror is severely elevated by the fact it was shared online. I wouldn't put it past a mother like that to have taken a video of it, too.

Well, she's a religious girl and I'll bet more money that she'll start grifting soon enough. Here's the thing that bugs me more than anything else - these people don't stay babies forever even if they'll only have the awareness of a infant.

In theory, these people will become babies in adult bodies. Sure, it's all fine now because they're small and easily manuvered but soon enough, they're gonna be too big to easily manage. Sure, they're "forever babies" but their bodies still mature and whatnot. They might begin menstruation and other bodily functions mature.

There was this one lady on tik tok whose daughter was disabled mentally and apparently she was getting her period and they were trying to stop it with birth control or a hysterectomy if it didn't stop. She also shaved her daughter's genital area for some reason and talked about it in dept, but I think I blocked it out.

Yes, that is a nasogastric feeding tube, inserted into the nose and it goes down the back of the the throat and down into the stomach. They are not really intended for long term loose as they get pulled out or dislodged easily which can cause aspiration of formula into the lungs. If an infant is bottle feeding, and might possibly advance to being able to feed well enough by bottle to gain weight, these are used. If it ends up being needed for long term a more permanent tube will be placed into the stomach through the abdominal wall in a minor surgery. The other things in the nose are nasal cannula to either give supplemenal oxygen, nasal cpap, or even non invasive ventilation ( basically on a vent and it is giving breaths, and positive pressure but less intervention than a breathing tube). Having a feeding tube going down the back of your throat feels awful, it's like a constant gagging feeling.
That posturing where the arms are not flexed but extended and look rigid is a very bad sign.

Yeah at the very least it sounds like the mom had no regard for her daughter's privacy and an inappropriate fixation on keeping her as childlike as possible. Worst case scenario she or someone else was sexually abusing her, which is sadly very common with severely disabled people.

I have no idea why the mother would give those details but it’s done because it’s easier to keep clean for a immobile person. The blood get the hair matted and it needs cleaned. Easy if you can hope in tub or shower but for a immobile veg adult it’s a difficult undertaking to properly clean pubic hair and not viable to shower someone like that a few times a day. It’s all done for cleaning and hygiene reasons.

As for pads not sticking to pubic hair, as a woman I can testify that this does indeed happen. It's more likely to happen to the "back" hair than the "front" hair, but yes, it does stick, and it does pull it out when removed. Sure am glad I don't have to deal with that any more.

I went for a deep dive, and this gets so much worse. Much much more selfish on everyone's parts. These are si's older siblings, Lilly (whose normal, if a bit premie) and then Rowan. I've mentioned Rowan and Si suffer some similar issues. Rowan passed away after month of life, give or take a few weeks.

Stark difference from what she puts on Facebook a week or so earlier.

They seem to be much more "honest" medically on the caring bear website and its weird considering how they consider Si all sunshine and roses. I don't know if she's trying to hold onto this child more, or she's lying to herself to save herself more heartbreak.

I'm sorry that these things happen, but they do, and for her, it wasn't out of the blue. Anyway, onto what made me pause. Sarah, the mother of all these kids, has a sister, Elizabeth, that I can confirm through cyber sleuthing. They posted this.

So I went looking for whoever Jason was. I figured that maybe it was a miscarriage/stillborn previous to the twins, but I after some deep diving, I found something weird.

Sarah and Elizabeth had a brother, and it looks like he had a genetic disorder too.

Fundies use the term "pure of heart" to describe mental disabilities too, so apparently he had mental delays as well. I can't find what he had specifically, but maybe one of you can tell me what he had because I'm stumped. I've never seen anything like this.

So he's related to Sarah and Elizabeth for sure. Picture above is confirmed it.

I just don't know what this is, but this makes the blatant disregard for genetic testing before birth or selected ivf where you chose only female embryos. She mentioned that's it effects only males, which it makes three - jason, Rowan and Silas. Hopefully she'll not have any more kids, but Fundies like to "give up to god". I can't imagine gambling with lives like this. You get 50% of having a healthy girl or 50% to have a boy with a crippling genetic disorder. Rowan and Lilly were twins. I did even deeper diving, and she considers a bunch of her former classmates "sisters" which is normal in small-town bullshit families.

Considering they all graduated the same year, and have different parents, they're not siblings. Confirmed Sarah,Elizabeth and Jason are all biological siblings. Anyone else is not, just friends.

I once knew someone who believed menstrual pads were worn with the adhesive side up, in order to "seal" the labiae and keep the blood from running out constantly.

I think this is likely what we're seeing in those photos. You've got a good eye! Those eyebrows are particularly distinctive, and as you suggested, the flaring growth pattern at the ends of the brows is characteristic of CdL syndrome. The downward turned mouth, very long eyelashes, small head, and broad, flat nose with upturned tip are also typical of CdL, as is short limbed dwarfism. In some of the photos, you can also see he has malformed hands, with missing fingers and proximally placed thumbs, which is textbook CdL syndrome.

It could also be Kabuki syndrome or Rubinstein Taybi syndrome, but I think your first guess is spot on. Given this kid and the fact that two other infants from the same family have severe anomalies, it does make you wonder if there's a genetic component at play here. Are all of these boys maternal cousins? I would be interested in seeing a whole exome sequence for all of them. It's interesting that only male fetuses have been affected so far, but that could be bad luck. CdL affects makes and females equally, but whatever is wrong with Silas and Rowan appears to be something else. Maybe I'll go digging for allelic disorders.

In the interest of preventing discussion in this thread from establishing inaccurate details as canon, this is definitely not Sanfilippo, although that's a horrifying rabbit hole. The facial features are not right for Sanfilippo or any of the other mucopolysaccharidoses. The facies in the MPS disorders are usually described as "coarse", and that's not what we're seeing. Additionally, kids with MPS do not show symptoms at birth or in early infancy. They usually look and act normal until early childhood, with facial features becoming more characteristically coarse as the disease progresses and cognitive development regresses. Finally, I think this kid lived way too long to have had Sanfilippo/MPS III, especially since he was born in 1989. There's no treatment for Sanfilippo and even now, kids usually die in their early teens.
