Don't they generally try to 'match' a child with people that are the same racial/ethnic group as it? I remember some brouhaha a while ago about black babies getting placed with white families and the whole stink it caused.

Maybe a few agencies do but I can't imagine it would be standard practice, the main people who have issues with interracial adoptions are white supremacists and particularily hardcore SJWs (in an excellent example of horseshoe theory). Lord only knows how many white celebrities treat adopted kids like pokemon and go out of their way to adopt kids that look as different from them as possible.
Shit, that white mommy blogger who "rehomed" her adopted autistic kid got him from China.

God damn that bitch was so evil. I think she was discussed in this thread before, especially for the those reasons. Airheaded lily white karens love using thier kids as objects and the boy got the boot when his disabilities weren't cute anymore. Poor guy. His experiences so far in his short life are enough to traumatize him for life.

Yeah but the Euro ones are in orphanages not getting appropriate care or consistent caregivers to form bonds with. Now it could easily be argued that foster care isn't necessarily better than institutionalization, but it seems like most foster parents who take on disabled children are actually in it for the kids, not the money. But who knows?

Foster care is actually better than institutionalizations. There was a very interesting study done with communism fell in Romania and the all the horrors of the state orphanages were uncovered. It was the first, and only I believe, time that a study of this sort was possible where in the wake of the reforms there they actually could study over time the outcomes of kids raised in institutions, foster homes and regular kids being raised with parents. It was very clear that in order of best outcomes it was 1 raised in home with parent 2. foster home 3. institutions. One of the more surprising things was even an abusive home could be better than a neglectful institution. Kids need a care giver to bond with, even if they are shitty ones, it's better than a rotation of strangers that tend to their physical needs.
This woman is a real piece of work. I guess she was going to have a gender reveal grift because at first I thought she didn't know the sex of the baby since she so carefully uses both pronouns but then states at the end that she had been told the gender today. Her dreams had totally revealed the gender to her before, but she just never mentioned it until she was actually told the gender this very day. Really hedging her bets now, but "Judah" points to them assuming it was a boy since that's, you know, a boys name that literally means SON of Jacob (and Jacob was her husband)...and yet the baby was a girl. I guess given the the outcome they never bothered to change the name to Jacobina or Jackie or whatever.

They probably assumed it was a boy because greater emphasis/importance is placed on baby boys over baby girls. Even for people who aren't super religious, though religious types especially make much fuss about it.
They seemed so dead set on having a boy named Judah that I doubt they would've renamed her even if she was normal and not completely brainless. Maybe Judah dodged a bullet as far as crazy fundie parents go.
I'm not in the habit on defending farm posts, but I will give this woman credit -- have followed her for a bit and she's at least honest when it comes to adoption, and not like she has the facilities to teach ESL as well as profound intellectual disabilities that those two boys need.Reminds me of this Utah family. Four young bio kids and then adopted two disabled teens from Ukraine, because God told them to. The mother frequently says she didn’t want to do it... but God told them to so they did.
They homeschool the bio kids and ship the adopted ones out to special school every day. They obviously have an Amazon grift list. I have no idea how they afford healthcare, surgeries and wheelchairs, but I’m a Brit so maybe someone can explain how much their insurance must cost (or whether they’re able to take advantage of charity funds or something).
(Edit: I missed MirnaM’s post above about disability benefits, Medicaid and food stamps. That makes more sense now, thanks).
Every now and again the mom with have a minor breakdown on Insta about how she can’t cope, but is clinging to God etc.
Also the older one of the two would have died within few months of them adopting him if they hadn't taken them both immediately to the hospital the second they landed in the U.S., as he had massive infections he couldn't feel (and they only went because the other one looked like that picture below the current one in the post, not even for him...), and he was like a few weeks from aging out of the orphanage and being on his own. She also fostered U.S. children both before and after adoption (obviously can't post about them for privacy reasons).
TL;DR I find the ones that adopt on a different plane than ones that refuse to abort their blue-eyed potato because Karen at the gym had a wine and Xanax induced vision. Like cows but not even comparable if that makes sense. like they would fit in a thread for white girls on african mission trips more.

Yup, for sure they have saved those two boys from being left to rot in adult institutions. I do wonder how the older one feels about being catapulted into a busy fundie household, and being forced to change his name (he was Dimitri, now Jonah). Hopefully he’s happy and looking forward to a fulfilling life with a small degree of independence.

If you go to their Instagram, which isn't difficult to find, you can read how he feels about his family and adoption in his own words. He's in a normal public high school and has good enough English to be understandable despite not attending school at all until he was 17. He was born with spina bifida, but he's cognitively normal and probably would have been able to walk, drive, and attend university if he'd been born somewhere where people gave a shit. He wouldn't have lived long enough to be sent to the institution because he had a bedsore so large it had eaten into the bones of his pelvis and spine and was killing him. His "normal" daily body temperature was 106.5 F when he left the orphanage and crazily enough, his condition was more critical than the other boy, who looked way worse. He probably had only a few weeks to live. I know people see the orphanage photo of the younger boy and are horrified, but it is a fucking travesty that a kid who could have accomplished anything he wanted was left to literally rot in an orphanage like that.
The younger, smaller son was born with microcephaly, cause unknown, and may not have been able to live wholly independently even with early intervention. Again, if you find their Instagram, it is wild to see the change in him within just a few years, including his head circumference more than doubling. He was 16 years old and weighed 15 pounds when he arrived in the United States. They saved his life, too.
I'm very, very reluctant to praise international adoption and I am one of the first people who will call out the "adoption is a miracle and white savior parents are heroes" rhetoric, but these people aren't cows and I think we should leave them alone. The older son is definitely capable of reading here and I really think he has dealt with enough shit in 18 years without reading that his new parents are grifters who "ship him off" to a special school so that they can homeschool their bio kids, all of whom are, incidentally, pre-school or early elementary aged.
I'm not going to sperg anymore, but if we didn't talk about Julianna, the little girl with a neuromuscular disorder who chose hospice care instead of treatment, I think this family falls into the same category.
(Also, wheelchairs, mobility aids, braces, and other specialized equipment for kids with orthopedic needs are provided free of charge through Shriners hospitals, for these children and others in the United States, so they're not grifting for that, either, although I'd rather see a grift for a wheelchair that would allow an adopted older teen to have some independence than one for tickets to an NFL game for a brainless fetus who won't survive birth.)

Apparently he has cognitive delays/learning disabilities and is in a class at 1st-3rd grade level. But yeah, I’m sure if he’d received proper medical care from birth and experienced a normal upbringing, he would be of average intelligence and able to live a fully independent life.
I wasn’t accusing this family of being cows btw. I do think it’s nuts to say “we didn’t want to adopt two profoundly disabled teenage boys, but God made us” but hey... that’s their story and they’ve done an amazing thing, even if they’ve sacrificed a good portion of their sanity and a quiet life with their bio kids.

Shit, even the quiverfull parents that spawned the kids don't want to be around them if the rate at which kids end up neglected and abused in those circles is any indication, as well as the rate daughters especially are forced to be the primary caregivers of their younger siblings. The ones with tards and spuds also seem to always take full advantage of all gibs available to them including home nurse care.
That said yeah, even insane fundie child hoarders are probably a step up from the care these poor kids get in eastern European orphanages and shit
Yeah conservative religious beliefs seem to always include actual patriarchy and viewing boys as more desirable than girls. I've noticed it even extends to prolifers having a tendency to refer to fetuses (including hypothetical ones that don't actually exist) with male pronouns. Could be a coincidence, but knowing fundies I doubt it.
I think all these brainless fundie babies ultimately dodged a bullet since insane fundies always make terrible parents. If Judah had a brain she probably would have been the apple of her parents eye until she got old enough to voice an opinion on shit and care for her younger siblings. After that she probably would've ended up like most eldest fundie daughters and forced to be the primary caregiver for her younger siblings until her parents either married her off to some other fundie kid hand selected by pregnancy fetishist dad or estranged for disobedience.

I always find it bizarre that these fundies are so naive as to think God will cure defects incompatible with life if you pray hard enough. Maybe they grew up so sheltered in the church that they truly believe with all their heart that it is possible?
They even built a nursery for their brainless baby. A nursery they have to come home to. This wasn't a baby with a minor defect. It was a brainless cephaly baby. I just don't get the delusion that God can fix this.

That's pretty much exactly the case. I spent most of my teenage years in a conservative evangelical church. It was the kind of place where God's omnipotence gets hammered home on a weekly, if not daily basis. We heard all kinds of stories of miraculous healing where someone had terminal cancer and it mysteriously went into remission after everyone prayed really hard, or where God magically reached down and fixed someone's messed up lungs or whatever, and mine wasn't even one of the super-hardcore fundie churches. If you spend enough time immersed in that kind of environment, it starts to sound pretty normal to you. Then along comes your bad diagnosis or your fucked up kid, and hey, if praying super hard and begging God for a miracle worked for Mrs. Martin and her cancer, or for little Joey's pneumonia, then it should work for you, right? So you get on your knees and you pray as hard as you can, and if it works out, all glory to God! If not, well, clearly it was God's plan for your kid to be born without a brain and die slowly and painfully to teach you a lesson about faith.

Yeah I remember a year or two ago itt there were some crazy fundies that thought god would bring their dead toddler back to life if people prayed hard enough. Needless to say, it didn't work.
Speaking of I wonder if new info ever came out with that case, like what the kid died of. I remember at the time the parents and church were pretty quiet about what happened to the kid.

I just did some Googling, and it doesn't look like anyone ever released a cause of death. Kid just stopped breathing one night and that was that. The family kept going with the resurrection thing for six days. Of course their church started a GoFundMe "for unexpected expenses" that made over $50K. Guessing no one got their money back after Jesus failed to come through.
That was when it was at its peak, yeah, but there are some hardcore evangelicals out there who continue to think that D&D teaches witchcraft and Satanism. They're a minority at this point, but they're still out there, and they're exactly the kind of people who'd be following that couple on social media.

I respect people who adopt one disabled foreign kid, especially if their bio kids are older. They can really make a difference for a child who otherwise would’ve been languishing in an orphanage. Even if they’re extremely cognitively low, they’re still going to be happier in a clean environment where they’re given medical care. But child collecting is a different story.
