Likely he'll stick around long enough to tell the judge just how wrong they are when they inevitably find Yaniv guilty.

Can they make him go back to a court appointed therapist? He got that removed from his weapons conviction because he said he had his own therapist.
Is court ordered anger management a possibility?

If convicted, this will be his second(?) Criminal offence, and of a nature related to his weapons violation. If the Crown is prosecuting well, they will illustrate a connection between the weapons conviction and a subsequent assault to paint a picture of a growing pattern of behavior.

Defence will argue that the assault occured in close proximity to his weapons violation, and before he received therapy, or fully came to appreciate the nature and gravity of his prior conviction. They'll say he is a changed man now. It is a good argument.

I would wager he will receive an increased fine, an marked increase in community service, an extension on his probation, and reinstatement of previous conditions he had removed.

Crown should also ask for an indefinite weapons prohibition. They would likely be granted that request.

I think the biggest impact here will be that this conviction, when added to the other, may draw the crown to proceed with inditement for any subsequent hybrid charges.

He's been avoiding all the hearings through convenient medical emergencies, so he probably needed an emergency hysterectomy or needing to get penecillin for leprosy or something.
