I'm in the camp that is frustrated with what a squandered opportunity this was. Every one who has pointed out that it would have been more beneficial to hide for a little while and let it die down before she continued her career is absolutely right and she even acknowledges that in the video. But as someone who has participated/experienced both sides of each extreme, she should have a really compelling and holistic perspective of how these things operate. How cool is it that she's going to actually address it? Right? No.
She gets so excruciatingly close to the core of understanding purity chasing and parasocial relationships, so close, there's like a piece of cellophane between her and that awareness. But instead of breaking through, she flings back and ends up in a place that is worse than before. The fact that she is critical of "bad faith arguments" while implying that criticism of her is fueled by Nazi's in the same breath shows that she wants to diatribe against virtuous dogpiling while still retaining her do participate in it in the future. Bad form.
