General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

>national speeches are enjoyable now
>"taxes" are optional, but people keep simping anyway
>driving laws repealed
>leaders don't make political statements, let alone fight because that would fracture the fanbase
>China is gone for some reason

libertarian paradise
And yet, for some reason, everything went to shit. Fucking humans, man.

finally got to watch Nene's 3D announcement stream. Gonna admit I teared up when she sstarted tearing up. Nene deserves it. And it will be a blast and a 3D to remember I'm willing to bet my left nut on it.

ShizuRin 3.0 update, showing off various expression at gachikoi distance.
Looks nice

This guy is either very bored or just mentally ill. If you don't like an entertainer (who also happens to actually care about their work), just watch someone else, avoid watching collabs etc., it really is quite easy with so many vtubers in Hololive alone.
/vt/, like the rest of 4chan, can be a fun place to just unwind and chimpout anonymously, but for me there is too much noise and everything moves too fast; same goes for reddit, where a lot of new threads are just the same boring shit, not yet filtered by upvotes. Here I can just read everything at my own pace, people are posting all the most important news and so on.
Mentally ill probably. I never understood why people spend so much time focusing on what others do especially when they don't like that person. It's like the most bottom bitch thing you can do.

And it’s not only her, but all the ENs. Watson reached 1m like, 2 month ago? Since then she managed to get to 1.11m. Not nearly close to the pace they were at.
And god knows when Ina and Kiara will reach the 1m mark.
There is only so much you can grow. Its a niche market still and not everyone appreciates it. I think at most Gura will stop at around 3-3.5M.
I'm trying to come up with excuses for numberfagging. Are Ina or Kiara in danger of graduating if they don't hit 1M subs?
Even the talents pulling out the smallest numbers still generate enough money for them to live comfortably and for Cover to take a nice cut without really having to do much.

Hololive was created to promote Cover's face-tracking software, it just also turned out to be a profitable side venture in its own right, albeit more for corporate advertising collabs from Cover's perspective. The girls add prestige to the business side of things in a way I don't think you can really buy, so I don't see them going away anytime soon. To put it another way, if it weren't for Hololive, would you know that Cover even exists?
No one would know what Cover is about. That said for a company that works on facial tracking their models are clunky as fuck.

Let's be frank, if low numbers meant graduation then all of Holostars would be axed
True

The title to Gura's upcoming MH stream is "meat spin lol"

There's no way she doesn't realize what that means.
Gura is a shitposter but she's been trying to keep her image clean after she started working under hololive. A little of it escapes ever so often.

Hololive did a good job picking talent and that's about it. From an EN perspective the rest of their operation is clunky as shit. There's weird nitpicks like needing permission to play games and larger issues like YouTube losing ground in the streaming wars quarter to quarter (even Facebook is positioned to outdo them at this point.) Creative freedoms are also limited under the Hololive umbrella, even to the point where collabs in-agency aren't allowed for ridiculous reasons. Besides debuting new talent to diminishing returns, what else is there?

Just look at some of the indies on Twitch and what they're doing with the format. They don't need to wait X months to get a new model, they aren't splitting revenue, they play games day 1 with whoever they want, and it's likely that with a bit of time and effort they'll be outperforming lower-level Hololive members. Some of the models these indies have are fucking insane, too - entire models for one-off streams, models that react to user input, etc etc.

There's a lot of prestige (rightly so) around being in Hololive, and while their talent is among the best, I think your assessment of them essentially paving the way for future agencies or individual talents to come along and really cause a stir is 100% right.
I mean look at Melody. She is super successful at what she does. Its a shame that everything could be way better had the company running things was not japanese. Sure they probably like to keep a strong grip on things which is probably why the quality of their talent is top notch but at the same time it also the main problem. Had this been a new company these girls would be the first to get their hands on, promote and play every big cash-cow triple A game out there a day or two before it came out just to generate hype.

It seems Kiara kinda liked The Rasmus when younger. Maybe another reason why she and Calli hit it off? Sharing the same gothic vibes?

I liked seeing this because it feels like what Sora wants. A nice collab with her kouhai, without Flare being intimidated by Sora's divine idol status.

I'm kind of glad the thread has slowed down, and that some of the more autistic people have fucked off/gotten banned. A number of the people who left seem to have been Mori and Kiara spergers/doomposters and their shit was some of the worst posts in the thread.

There's a network effect that Hololive has that I don't think a new company, even a better-run one, would be able to replicate for a very long time. Compare the numbers that sachiowo pulled to what Ame does, when it's still very similar content-wise, for an example of that at work.

Warabeda Meiji from Nijisanji did her first stream in 5 months just recently. She said she was sick and spent most of this time in bed. She still isn't feeling 100% better but she said she will stream on her own pace from now on, without overexerting herself.

Does anyone know what illness she has?

Edit:

According to this website http://vtubermatome.blog.jp/archives/24681142.html it's something related to her throat but I didn't find anything specific.

Yes, now we just have sperging and doomposting about other things instead half the time.

There's going to be a Gen0 haus in the vein of Gen5's ENENMI complex, but who will tear Roboco away from apex for more than 6 minutes?

Twitter Vtubers (and by extension, Western Based Vtuber Companies) aren't going to be hounded by Japanese companies for breaking Copyright Laws

They (Indies and Western Companies) are free to do whatever the fuck they want because 1. Copyright is more lax here 2. They are irrelevant in the greater scheme of things that most Companies would not bother going after them even if full on pirate a game.

Hololive and Nijisanji are in a precarious position because they have become too big that they can no longer be ignored and Japanese copyright is almost draconian.

Were you not here when Capcom admitted to targetting Cover Corp with copyright strikes? Or when there was an outrage over Nijisanji for not crediting the person who made an UNOFFICIAL Japanese patch for Among Us?

They did almost, if not the same things, as Western Vtubers when they were still a small agency. Their explosive growth has consistenly been a double edged sword for them

Gura committing some serious cultural appropriation with her Palico's costume.

Edit to avoid double post: Someone dropped an akaspa in Gura's chat claiming to have been bullied for the last three years on account of being trans (they made sure to specify they were pre-HRT), asking if she's an LGBTQ+ ally, and for her to silence their bullies forever. She gave general advice on dealing with bullies but didn't touch the rest. Majority sentiment in chat was "don't bring that shit here."

Why the fuck do these tranny freaks think superchatting this shit is okay? Are they trolling or just being extremely exceptional?

Attention and easy clout that they can whine about on Twitter in case the chuuba doesn't know better than to sidestep the troon issue. They'd love nothing more than to have an excuse to try and cancel one of the biggest vtubing names out there if she fucked up the response.

This is why I couldn't understand why some EN members chose to not be independent. Some of them had huge followings pre debut that could have easily been leveraged to make them successful in the vtube sphere. Its a shame they have to tone down their content and jump through hoops to do what they could have easily done on their own.

Yeah, I think so too. And I’m really curious to see how they are going to play this. How many people are they going to throw it in? What sort of characters? Are they going to put male talents in the mix?

I think they will go with a healthy mix of 2 men and 3 women. It's always better to bring more women for those simp bucks and they may want to tap a little bit into the male English speaking chubas to test the water.

However imo they already lost a lot those dollaroos by doing an EN branch this late in the game.

I pray to god everyday for trannies to finally come to the grounded conclusion that 1) nobody gives a shit about their chopped dicks and hormone therapies and 2) the whole "allies" bullshit was put in place so they have someone else to blame for self-mutilating. Of course that's not going to happen because internet narcissism is untreatable.
