new fridge. add the fridge to the list of things they have bought lol

Motherfucking $500 for a 10 cubic foot refrigerator.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Galanz-...eezer-Frost-Free-in-Red-GLR10TRDEFR/308105337

Edit: Most of their food is frozen from Costco anyway, so why not buy an energy efficient 8 cubic foot chest freezer for $200 and then get a 2 cubic foot mini fridge for beverages and dairy and shit for $100? Oh hey, I saved $200 and probably some energy as well because the freezer can go in the basement of horrors and not have to work as hard due to the lower temps.

The absolute state of their budget and spending...

Does anyone live in that RV? Because I am pretty sure that's against their local code...

Did he buy that laptop new? Is it a new model? Because honestly, only a retard would buy such a low-end model of laptop brand new in this day and age. I might understand if it was something with decent specs, top of the line, but cheapo laptops new from the factory in *current year* are all horrid not just because of their specs, but because often all the components are just soldered right to the motherboard, and you can't even open it or upgrade it. Just useless disposable e-waste honestly. If you need a shitty laptop just buy a used thinkpad on ebay for ~200 bucks (or less). Those last forever, and you can actually repair them.

this shit so barren!!!! tf!!!

I'm guessing they're buying hay to keep them fed or they're giving them pellet feed, but don't they have like several hundred alpacas? Hay tends to go for somewhere between $20-35 a bale and they would need at least a dozen a day for several hundred animals on a low estimate. Either way, they're spending hundreds per day in just keeping their animals alive at least. Place is a literal money pit.

Jesus, that is barren af. They really came upon that land like a biblical plague.
Nice that their geodome thingy is completely caked in dust as well. Even if they had a decent photovoltaic system, what are the odds these lazy fucks would keep them clean?

But that would mean they would have to walk downstairs and back up for hot pockets :(

Honestly at this point I am kind of grateful that they suck so bad at spending so I can hear everyone else here sperg about cheaper and better options. I am committed to not making as many mistakes as these troons.

That fridge freezer eats about 1 kWh per day. Not a ridiculous amount until you realise they go in cycles when the compressor is running and when it isn't. Those times it's on will be heavy draws on the troon supply.

Edit: actually 1 kWh is going to be a lot for the toons. Their solar controller is a blue sky solar boost 50 (unless they actually used GFM grift money to repair it and never posted it).

SmartSelect_20210413-111539_Brave.jpg

Looking at the spec sheet for the controller:

SmartSelect_20210413-110922_Acrobat for Samsung.jpg

Taking absolute best case (32 V @ 52 A from the panels) gives 1.7 kW (rounding up). Assuming lossless batteries and wiring (impossible but I'm be overly generous to the troons in this) that means they need over half their solar system running at the theroetical perfect conditions for an hour a day to run just the fridge freezer.

The little power they have would be fine... If they were reasonable people. But they're a bunch of insane Internet and toy addicted troons who on principle do not know moderation, or reason.
This shit is hilarious.

Yea they buy another 120v ac thing because its cute and easy to get.

Its not like there are refrigerators and freezers that can run on propane or 12v DC for solar... But research and planning is hard i guess.

I can't imagine them ever selling the property. The cost of hiring a cleanup crew, throwing away their garbo qUiRkY appliances and buying a refrigerator for normal people would negate like half of the price. And, personally, I'd be too disgusted to stay in Kevryn's room even after a thorough bleach wash of everything, including walls, ceiling and every little nook and cranny.

Their best chance at getting rid of the tranch is burning it down, and they may be heading in the right direction for once.

Propane is only really an option for people using them in camp and cabins for short period who already have a propane setup for heat, lights, etc and don't want to add another system. Propane appliances are extremely inefficient and will end up costing much more than their DC brethren. This isn't a big deal for a camp that you use a couple weeks out of the year, but is for offgrid living.

...and all that makes it just perfect for the intrepid heroes of this thread!
It isn't like they're trying to use a BEV (battery electric vehicle) out in the desert or they're trying to run a gaming rig off of a barely working PV system while running a ranch so inefficiently it's a miracle most of their animals are alive.

I have a small upright freezer made in South Korea by Samsung (before they went to the extreme with cell phones) in 1988 with a Montgomery Ward label. Bought it from its umpteenth owner a couple years ago for $50. It looks like it was chewed up and spit out by a biker gang, but it still works. Since it doesn't have the stupid anti-frost shit that today's freezers have to have, it's far more energy efficient. I also have a small Sanyo mini fridge made in Mexico in 2000. Bought it from a hippie biker dude for $25. This setup replaced a 2005 Hotpoint fridge/freezer that used twice as much energy and that had a compressor about to die. Fuck Chinese fridges and freezers, buy used and get something better. Of course, we're talking troons here, so I might as well be writing this post in Uighur.

Also that fridge does not at all match the house.
They definitely bought it because they thought the retro aesthetic was cute and "girly". They got off a little on the idea of looking like a 50s housewife while getting their hot pockets from the freezer, and that was all the incentive they needed to buy.

Problem is, from my experience, every single one of those "oh em gee so cute!!" retro-style appliances suck ass when it comes to performance, because the appearance is the selling point, not how well they do whatever they're made to do. I remember checking reviews on a retro-style microwave once and apparently it would randomly turn itself on and.. you know, burst into flames sometimes.
