General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

The funny thing is, I'm not worried about diminishing returns and a potential sub-count slump. Tourists leaving doesn't bother me. I imagine a lot of simps will move on, the ENVytubers will shrink in numbers, and gradually, we'll be left with a smaller but potentially more integrated community and healthy fanbase. It is still going to dwarf where we were two years ago and overall, I think the girls will remain successful and superchat income/membership income will probably increase incrementally. So, I don't mean any of this as a doompost. Quite the contrary, I think it will ultimately turn out to be a good thing, with a niche fanbase that is stable.

So some bad news. Nijisanji India is suspending the activities of their entire India branch on Friday, 4?30 at 23:49 JST. All three of the active talents under the branch (Aadya, Noor, and Vihaan) will be graduated at the same time at (presumably) the same date the entire branch will be suspended. While it's sorta out of nowhere, the branch never really did well. There just isn't enough of an anime market in India to justify an India branch. Still a shame to see talents go against their own will.

Doesn't bode well for smaller nijis which are aplenty.

I do have to agree with most people ITT that we have seen the peak of hololive generally and stuff is gentley slowing down now.

Still holding fire on predictions on when EN Gen2 drops, we had no idea how big the first EN was going to be and I think allot of us was expecting it to be a absolute shit show about a year ago but I soon had to eat my words on how well they done. I believe hololive still have a couple of tricks and surprises up their sleeve, but not that many now.

Damn that's rough, though honestly I barely ever see any news about their IN branch to begin with and only knew Noor existed just because she was in a collab involving Kanae. It does make me wonder about what exactly is going on with Nijisanji's management.

Moona got 2 weeks suspended last year (before PekoMoon act) due to her insensitive comment about religious.

This means that Moona and the ID girls belong to the 10% non Muslim minority Indonesians (the cool Indonesians which some said that they are pretty much the same as Pinoy when it comes to internet footprint in SEA region).
While Moona having dutch blood and Reine being chinks make it possible that they are christian (I think moona was at some point in this thread do confirmed to be some sort of prots), I highly doubt the rest of them are non muslims, as most Indo non muslims live in really, really rural part of the country, with generally fuck all internet infrastructure. Can't exactly stream in the middle of jungle after all.

Got some catching up to do with the Nene and Suisei stream
"A date?? My idol can't be in a normal relatio- oh wait it with Aki. Jk all good." - some gachikoi who still takes the idea they are idols too serious. Joking aside, I'm willing to bet ten dodos that Coco and Aki spent some time gushing about ARK and/or Aki grilling Coco on how she became a supporter/director for that one ARK music fanvid.

Also, Korone 2 years! I have lost many yubis I am surprised I can still type wow
EDIT: looks like another Bookwalker sponsored manga reading time of that one manga about being a Vtuber

Man the live performance of Next Colour Planet never gets old for me. Susei singing always a joy to watch now.

Had some fun watching Calli and Ollie on Apex last night, of course Calli forgot to cover the map so they got plagued by some stream sniping lol

Then I watched the Watson vid that came up recommended after and she seems...more than competent at FPS at least from what I've seen. Idk if it's just an apex thing for her or what but she was a lot better than I expected. Maybe she really is the most dangerous of the Holo EN crew.

Part of this can be blamed on member chats only.
Whether people like it or not, chat is a big part of streaming, and members only chat is a good way of pay walling a huge chunk of her viewerbase who would rather go watch someone they can interact with.

Then again, she seems to be doing alright on the SC aspect, so I may be completely off-base here.

Coco never really pullied massive numbers for regular streams outside of meme review and Asacoco. Sure the members only chat probably impacts her but I'd presume it mostly fucks over her growth, which basically nosedived after she came back rather than her viewership.

Oh and seemingly the ENs are doing their character creation for Calli's TTRPG this week, though it won't be streamed (source: Kiara's Diablo stream)
I feel like we should consider that there are probably forces at work beyond Coco's control there and that we can't really see from the outside. Based on what I've seen from her I don't think she's the type who would just arbitrarily decide to forego interaction with chat. Considering how much the bugmen hate her she might be trying to mitigate trolls as much as possible, it may have been a management decision too. And hey maybe I'm wrong and she woke up one day and decided "I'm the shit and merely saying something to me in a sea of messages should cost money" but I doubt that. She seems to enjoy her audience and our autism.
