Got the OK to adopt a cat and was getting things in order to file out the paperwork while looking at supplies when I remembered this subreddit exists. It just kind of lurked there in the back of my mind as this really neurotic place that I wasn't sure really existed.

Nah, most if not all women don't sound like that. I've sen women who have PCOS with full beards who sound more feminine.
The thing is, you really can't hide laryngeal hypertrophy. The Forehead, voice, and shoulder width are the most determinant of sex in humans.

Not only are we familiar with all the things that trannies can't change or hide, but for a normal person the idea of someone being a troon probably doesn't even enter their mind.

For example, they see a person named "Miriam" with long hair, a bust, and wearing a dress and they probably don't notice the shoulder-to-width ratio or the size of the forehead or nose shape. Even the details that are too obvious to miss like the voice, they might think that they just have some sort of condition that fucked with their vocal cords or maybe they have autism (I mean, they probably actually do). If the idea of this person being a troon even crosses their mind they might think, "even if this person was born male I'm sure that they would have figured out a woman voice by now, so that's probably not the reason they sound like that".

It really seems absurd to us some of the people who claim to "pass", but in reality if they put in any sort of effort they probably only get recognized as trannies by two kinds of people.
  1. Trannies and allies who are fully enmeshed in their world
  2. Informed transphobes (many of whom started out in the previous category)
I remember at one point I posted a picture of Sapphixy in my gaming Discord and while they all thought he was fucking hideous, not a single one of them seemed to realize he was not a woman, they just said stuff like, "What's wrong with her face?" or "I've never seen a woman that ugly before".

If Sapphixy (a legitimate contender for most hideous troon on KF) can pass in a group of shitlords like that then it's totally believable that a tranny who does more than put on a pink headband and wear women's glasses could pass for a few dates.
 
One of them was talking about not getting a stinkditch until he decides whether or not he wants kids. I can't tell if they're in extra fantasy land, or they think getting the cock chop makes them more "womanly" and therefore better to adopt a kid.

Sapphixy has the advantage of being really fucking fat. I've never met a tranny in person I couldn't clock not long after seeing them. There's just something "off" about the way they look when they don't have angles and filters to hide and smooth everything out.

As @Islamic Creampie points out, Sean is super duper fat. Infinifat as the BoPos say. That’s the gender event horizon: when morbid obesity so obscures bio sex that you can’t tell if it’s a man or woman. Most of them don’t have that shield.

Some of them could pass from the face, but I think it goes back to what Surfin Terf was saying about shapphixy: Pile enough lard on and the bone structure doesn't really register as male or female, it just gets filed under "hambeast". Amberlynn Reid, to pick a name at random, might have a jawline that would make Johnny Bravo weep, but without x-rays and/or ground-penetrating radar there's no way to tell.

Obviously there are other giveaways, but it might explain why so many troons opt for the "thumb in a wig" look. I wonder what the crossover between Fat acceptance and Troonery is...

I truly believe that the Kardashians, who are in a ship-of-theseus way idealized models for troons, have something to do with the undue confidence of these obvious males who managed to get facial feminization surgery. Tragic.
