There's one sort of more politically oriented community that was and has remained critical of trans issues, but low key, and even now there are some "good" trans people in it but they're pulling the same shit - "Well, I'm not one of those nutty trans people, but...," and basically still advocate for every nutty trans issue, just with some restrictions, and it's like nobody can say anything. Hell, I'm guilty, because I don't want to start shit in places I'm at for reasons that have nothing to do with trans stuff. I've basically left most of those communities, but it feels so strange.

So they lie to themselves, they're lied to by authority figures, AND masses of people around them are pressured to lying as well. It's probably a lot easier to constantly, immensely lie to yourself when you have so much backup.

Update PL on my real-life troon coworker/intern.

Spoiler: Power Level

I'll call him X. He is close to 6ft tall. I immediately clocked him as trans, not just due to height but the sheer size of the hands and feet. They are like dustpan lids! X wears jeans and open-toed sandels in the workplace. I imagine they are the only "female" shoes that can accommodate those hoofs. Not really appropriate in our work environment. X looks quite young due to braces - but is actually 28. Lives at home, never had a full-time job, only just graduated a degree (after failing the first attempt at biology). Regularly complains about not having any money.

X has a strong family history of autism - both nephews with a diagnosis, as well as suspected sister. Shows very clear signs of ASD himself. Very awkward and extremely socially anxious. The kind of person afraid to answer the phone you know. Very draining to be around because X is always saying "I'm so bad at this, I'm so nervous about that" always seeking validation. Talks in a very quiet/mumbled voice, but will occasionally cough or shout something in a deep booming man voice. Will swear in front of the children and not realise it's socially inappropriate. Checks his phone during sessions he is observing. Answers his phone in the middle of sessions. Shows an interest in fixing cars and watching cartoons.

Apparently has several medical concerns. Suffered meningitis at age 18 - went cross-eyed as a result, though this has been resolved naturally. Also has some sort of ulceritis syndrome that results in frequent and sudden diarrhea - has no qualms about discussing this in detail with vague acquaintances - not really understanding female social mores at all. Maybe toilet talk is typical for men? Unsure. Probable eating disorder - rake thin and has talked in detail about reducing to 600 calories per day to reduce "muscle mass" quickly. Will avoid eating in the office and goes home to do so because 'I don't want people seeing me eat junk food".

Has had the "vagina surgery" in 2018. Has had facial feminization surgery. I also noticed what looks like a botched (think Michael Jackson) nose job. He has a HUGE skull - very round, kind of moon face. Big jaw but not horselike that you see in these sorts of photos. This week he came into work with his face all messed up because he got electrolytis on his beard (but kept the sideburns).

Really, I find him creepy. He has not said anything directly towards me, but just gives off a really offputting aura. The kind of person you would be embarrassed to be seen with in public. He identifies as a lesbian and "gay as hell". I am a genuine lesbian, and I would never bring up my sexual orientation in a workplace setting - particularly in our rural town, PARTICULARLY working with children. He has sort of baited me into talking about my love life, but I refuse to engage - I am scared that if he finds out I'm a lesbian he will try to relate to me more. He complains a lot about not finding a good girlfriend here in the country.

I just don't get it. He could have just been a usual nerdy, ugly ginger guy and found some equally autistic girl to marry. There's no shortage of dim country girls who just want to get married and make babies and will take anyone. Now he has excluded himself from any kind of social interaction. For what? No amount of surgery is going to make his head smaller, or his height shorter or his hands and feet normal sized. Everyone can tell!

For a lot of lesbians, especially the ones who prefer butches/masculine women, they just can't really see FtM as males because feminine body structure is so apparent to them. The feminine quality jumps out, even with facial hair or without breasts. Just as many gay men seem to see HSTS MtF as skinny twinks, found them hot, and ended up focusing on the masculine body shapes and their brain bypass all the getup and bolted on tits. Give it 2 years and AFAB/AMAB or some variant thereof will be a horrible bigoted slur, since it calls to attention the putative irrelevancy that is the opinion of some (obviously) scientifically backward medical professional from the dark age of yesterday. Even "cis" would be condemned if TERFs weren't so hung up on not ever using it -- after all, why divide women by ascribing labels to them, you know? The tendency towards labeling is well known to betoken a colonial-white supremacist world view which disfavors embodied fluid understandings of the self, indigenous ways of knowing etc. etc. through the imposition of categoric denotations which enable systematic exploitation by the cisheteropatriarchy.

The name for this phenomenon: euphemistic treadmill -- you can't outrun reality. I think a lot of troons are commies because they're looking for attention through the shock value of their identity, both politically and sexually. As far as real connections between communism and trans ideology idk. Obviously Soviet-style communist states were historically against it, as they were against homosexuality, seeing it as a degenerate Western/capitalist perversion. But I think you can make the argument that SJW ideology in general arose out of the Western Marxist/Eurocommunist tradition in academia. Certainly SJWism's tendency to split everyone into privileged and oppressed classes goes back to the bourgeois/proletariat class war theory of Marxism. You could say SJWism just took Marxism and shifted the focus from class to sex and race. Which is what's allowed it to flourish in Western neoliberal countries as the other poster said. SJWs are mainly college educated, you'd have to consider them bourgeois especially when you think about the huge global underclass. And I'm sure the capitalist owner class is delighted that the so-called far left is too busy whining about trans representation in media etc. to complain about the treatment of said economic underclass.
