As a sidenote, I've just remembered that my country some time ago passed a law that essentially made SRS's free of all charge AND also made those surgeries be funded by our tax money, and since this was made in conjuntction with a few other laws implementing new social programs the government decided to raise our taxes in order to fund all that shit wich is fucking enfuriating since in my country the average citizen earns a few thousand dollars more than the other countries in the region but then most of that money evaporates thanks to our taxes and going back to the trans law thing, one of the articles, the 12, mandates that all our main government bodies need to have at least 1% of trans people working in them and article 21 allows people below the age of 18 to have a SRS if they have the aproval of their parents or legal tutors.

Lots of languages don’t have gendered pronouns, though. And English used to have all nouns be gendered, like German does now, and they didn’t get added back. People say things like ‘male nurse’ or ‘female engineer’ or whatever when they want to distinguish. The degree to which languages distinguish gender in speech is arbitrary (there’s even a language where there’s no gender distinction between ‘mother’ and ‘father’, only a word meaning ‘parent’) and has no real bearing on that culture’s gender roles.
