I'd honestly chalk more of the sub death up to this sorta shit. His production quality, isn't, and the other gaming news out there at least puts more effort into it than him. They're either producing work of his quality in hours, and getting by with quantity, or just doing it better than him on the same timeline.

Seriously, why would I want to wait for Monday when Yong Yea has already done on the spot takes of the recent news, and Hoeg Law has done deep dives into what something might mean, while The Quartering is giving me my dose of fat angry fucker in the gaming sphere.

It's almost as if the audience who wants to hear about videogame industry stuff and reviews might not also have a colossal overlap with the audience who wants to hear about Stephanie's gender shit constantly. This scenario reminds me of a horror movie review channel I used to watch. The guy's name was Nyx or something (I'm sure he probably gets mentions in other threads now) and he was a decent, funny reviewer. He had the emo goth skater look/vibe and I thought it was just a style choice.
Eventually he starts trooning out so hard he turned into a Narcissa-like ghoul and I legit couldn't watch his channel anymore because he became so hideous. While Jim is still years away from hitting that look (for obvious reasons) I can see why people would drop him even if they like to pretend they're trans friendly.

I think Jimmy girl forgets that video is a visual medium and that you don't want to assault your viewer's eyes with hideous colours and ugly men in wigs.

I can certainly understand that perspective, but as a once long-time viewer of Sterling he always had a tendency to front and backload his videos with Shit Nobody Cares About, the only difference is now it's trans-flavoured instead whatever other pet cause it was fashionable to ride the coat tails of at the time; either way you just learned to tune it out until he got to the fucking point.

The trans stuff is particularly obnoxious though, I agree, but that seems to be the rule rather than the exception for such people, presumably because they're trying to convince themselves as much as their audience.

Also i feel like another reason their viewership has went down is because they just don't put that many videos out anymore. Youtube's algorythm will bury you unless you upload at a regular rate, it's a big problem with much smaller channels failing to get noticed.

And Jim doesn't seem to upload anything that not his weekly show now, a while back Jim still uploaded Industry Bullshit, Jimpressions, Boglinwatch, even did a few reviews, making fun of bad steam games or bad playstation store games, and now Jim stopped uploading anything that's not JQ.

I recall one reason he stopped covering bad steam games etc. is "they don't get views" combined with Jim feeling i guess like videos like that not being worth the risk of another "defamation lawsuit" and for some reason he abandoned covering bad games other than shouting about AAA titles on Jimquisition.

Even now it's more used as a platform to be a breadtuber. Jim really really wants to be Contra/PT/Thought Slime/Hbomb or more importantly, Jim's good friend and fellow "stunning and brave trans woman" Laura Kate Dale.

But here's the thing Jim... Breadtubers don't have a lot of subscribers either. Thought Slime only has 200k. Shaun has less, Three Arrows has even less than that. Even post-bleed you already have a bigger platform than them.

Breadtubers stay afloat via e-begging on patreon/ko-fi and on twitch. That and they actually upload often and don't just talk about the same thing over and over. Even Thought Slime takes a fuckin break from talking about how Capitalism is bad and that the state is "illigitimate at it's core" to talk about horror movies.

Vary your fuckin content a little and actually upload often enough for Youtube to not down list you and you'll be fine. Also breadtubers don't care about subscribers. They know they have to e-beg from other troons and cucks. Accept it.

Sterling book-ending his videos with bullshit is nothing new, yeah. And it's not like his videos were research-heavy either. He's no Ahoy. His stuff has always been about providing just enough context on whatever subject he's talking about that he can then give you his opinions on it. The problem for him is that he hasn't had an original thought in ages. Remember: he had been losing relevance LONG before trooning out. His opinions are nothing new (TotalBiscuit arguably got them across far better than Sterling himself did), and in Current Year that shit is just pedestrian, it makes him look like he's just hopping on the bandwagon whever he goes. Add to that his very low production rates and he's still just going to keep circling the drain.

I think that partially goes back to your first point. Shaun uploads maybe four or five videos a year, and Three Arrows hasn't uploaded in over six months. When Breadtubers actually upload content on a regular basis (Vaush for example) they do tend to get decent views.

The real issue is that Jim basically wants to chase a new audience (left-wing political content) at the expense of his old one (video games), essentially betting his career on the hope that he can make new fans as fast as he's willing to lose his old ones.

The old Best of Steam Greenlight series had loads of random shit, as well as loads of unintentional comedy gold, reacting to bad/stupid games dredged up from the piles of shovelware on Steam. That was genuinely fun content to watch back in the day, in my opinion, and when Jim actually did video reviews of games, I found his opinions often aligned to my personal preferences in games, so I would watch his videos for first impressions/reviews that might be games I'd want to check out later.

Here's the problem though.... he simply doesnt make gaming content anymore.

It's entirely content about the latest politics/controversy SURROUNDING games or the game industry. Nothing about the games themselves, no gameplay, the funny reactions to random nonsense on Steam are long gone. As a result, I unsubbed from his channel quite awhile ago. But no, I'm sure it's just "TWANSPHOBIA!" that's driving people away Jim. Not the fact that you don't even make the content that got you a fanbase in the first place. The only people left are the ones who are diehard fans/simps, and the kinds of people who actually ENJOY watching a knockoff gaming-breadtuber with a good side of random sexual deviance and gender sperging.

Nonbinary is dominated by three or four major stereotypes. Quirky teenagers and collage age adults who want to be " like so different and unique", trannies in a transitory period going both ways. Either just turning trans and being enby as a springpad or realizing they'll never be woman and joining the 51%. And then finally those weird people with like full body hair and other natural masculine bodily shit combined with female cosmetics and apparel that genuinely seem to have no interest in being trans.
