I'm surprised that something like the SuperStraight thing hasn't been tried before or at least as gotten much traction as it has. The basic idea of simply using their own rhetoric against them after years of trying to speak to them while having ists and phobs tossed your way to easily shut one down is pretty damn smart. It's got irony, humor and easy to digest memes for the regular folk to read and chuckle at while also getting a look at people who oppose it, being threats of violence and rape... to a joke movement. If that's all they can do after having their own rhetoric thrown back at their faces then... yikes that's not a good look for ya sweaty.
Even if this SuperStraight meme doesn't last (most likely not, people already trying to use /pol/ to poison the well) I hope the basic idea of it sticks around as it's basically weaponizing what they've been using along with something a lot of these people lack: Self Awareness and humor. Think the best way to deal with these miserable sad sacks that take themselves so fucking seriously is to just joke around and laugh at them. Shocking I know but most people would rather laugh and have a good time rather than be sucked into perpetual word games, fear mongering and guilt tripping 24/7.
Either way I'm enjoying the milk from all this while it lasts, some of the best shit I've seen in a while.

The ease and fluency with which they co-opt troons’ own language and use it against them is so delicious to me. Every post is filled with these kinds of comments. We are approaching seethe levels I never dreamed possible.
 
Don't get your hopes up that this Superstraight thing will have any meaningful impact. It's hilarious and if people were sensible they'd see that it was in reaction to a situation that was very real and very stupid with regards to the troons trying to force themselves on people, but more likely we wake up one morning and the subreddit is banned and everyone celebrates taking down the literal nazis and they're emboldened to be even shittier.

I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

I agree. The basic idea of it is effective but if anyone who cares to actually be effective long term against this Troon lunacy then they'd have to also be prepared for what they'll do in response. I seen the subreddit pin a post saying Nazism is not tolerated within the SS (lol) community which I think it's a decent enough start. I think the main thing to be learned from it is to simply get down into the mud and beat the troons at their own game, the game of arguing from a position of morality. If the last decade of discourse is anything to show then taking the moral high ground is super effective and it's how the woke left in general not just troons were able to gain such public support.
Many people site the Westbro Baptist Church as the final nail in the coffin for the Religious Right having any social influence, people who spent decades clutching their pearls for muh morality. If the slipping of the mask can reach such a wide audience it'll start to make the general public begin to question all the moralfagging.
If the JK Rowlings of the world wish to gain any ground they'd use this and use this hard. This is just my optimistic side thinking aloud but it will be interesting to see these things head down that path if that's were this could lead.

I know this might be cringe sentiment of me, but I worry that this whole thing will make people more homophobic to the LGB part who just want to date other adults of the same sex and be normal. I've read statistics that acceptance for LGBTQ+ has actually gone DOWN over the years (with young women being more uncomfortable with it, when that demographic was usually the ones most tolerant of it), and any sane LGB (and even some T) person knows that it's because of all the vocal "queers" and trenders/fetishists. Now that straight people have got caught up in the trancel/cotton ceiling shit they are not going to let them get away with it unlike when it happened to gays and lesbians.

I feel like the vast majority of people don't give a shit about gays and lesbians anymore as long as they're not insane like the troons and if anything would welcome their help in shouting down the lunacy. If anything the psychotic twitter people have probably made even the shittiest straight person still holding out some prejudice towards normal gays and lesbians miss and pine for the days of them after years of this nonsense.

Lmao, this "superstraight" stuff is hilarious. I think progressives have unwittingly built a castle out of TNT bricks rather than stone - it's really easy to coopt their stuff against them. I think we'll see a lot more of that in the near future.

Not gonna lie, it frustrates me to no end when a gay person comes forward about this shit only for people to yell at them going, "nobody actually says this, and even if they do it's only a tiny minority of transpeople, stop pretending to be a victim". Really? While I know that "not all are like that" (duh, I've talked to several who think it's fucked up and even dealt with it themselves), saying that it's a tiny insignificant minority that you can easily avoid is lying at this point. I can count on one hand how many "transbians" I encountered that weren't complete creeps, and even fewer of that handful made an active effort to call out and condemn this shit in public. I wouldn't be surprised if those few people just gave up and detransitioned after awhile, lol.
