I enjoy the humor of incorporating the crown if it could be made to work but wow does that draft look very coiny so far. It somewhat reminds me of a Kennedy half dollar. Great work!
Edit: Maybe a Ben Franklin half is a closer likeness. Still looking great.

I like this design because it's mostly "Classic" but with a hint toward tomgirl with the hair (which could also be passed off as a Ben Franklin-esque colonial 'do). You might want to tone down the ear a bit though, it's like a black hole right now.
I feel like the left side needs more of something in it though. Maybe add the date for starters?
Also: is he supposed to be wearing his valedictorian sash here?

He's wearing the classic, or rather is supposed to be. I did try to mix classic Chris and modern Chris. I'll make the stripes more like the classic and fix the ear and then get it to the fellow kiwi who is helping to vectorize it. We have plans for the left side, I think you'll like them.
