ANTIFA / Antifascist Action / Antifaschistische Aktion - The anti-fascist gang with fascist tendencies

I dunno if you guys care, I’ve been reading a book on ANTIFA, it’s called Unmasked by Andy Ngo. I haven’t finished it, but, it’s really good so far and it was just released today.
EDIT: In the future, I might talk more about the book. But that’s a huge IF.

Shit, if nothing else there is enough to talk about the meltdown from Andy's book that is sure to happen soon.
We already have Edward/Emily Gorcenski threatening to sue over being identified and “deadnamed,” alongside the massive tantrum to try to get publishers and distributors to drop it, so we’re off to a good start.

I’ve heard numerous reports that Antifa members disguised themselves as Trump’s own supporters to give the media a ride, while they wore their MAGA hats backwards and stormed through the Capitol Building.

How true is this?
Well, Jake 'Buffalo Shaman' Angeli (real name Jacob Chansley) was photographed supporting a DC #BLM rally in June 2020 and a climate activism rally in Arizona in September 2019. And now the media is breathlessly salivating over his 'turning' on Trump. If it looks like shit and smells like shit, it's probably not peanut butter.
I've also got photos (somewhere) from early 2020* of an individual wearing Antifa Black Bloc gear carrying a shield covered with black plastic sheet, the sheet is torn showing a 'black sun' on the shield itself. And later in the riot , same individual, same shield, wrecking shit, but no longer wearing black bloc gear. Double agent? Triple agent? Glowie? Hard to say.
But if anyone thinks that there weren't people on both sides infiltrating each other's movements and attempting delegitimisation optics, they might need to take long hard think about the depths that people are prepared to sink to these days.

*If I can find the fucking thing in my massive unsorted image pile I'll post it here, swear to god.

Yeah, seems like there's a number of, how shall we say, unusual persons present at this 'totally Trump/Rethuglican riot coup'.

As I've said before, I could buy people getting stupid and riled up. But I am really, really fucking suspicious of how we keep finding fucking liberals popping up in what was supposed to be a strictly 'Trumpist attack on our capitol'.

We're deep enough into clown world that I could absolutely see a judge declaring the "right" to force you to pretend some insane activist shithead on twitter is a chick named Emily.

Deadnaming laws will bring some interesting sc cases for sure. Because they're coming let's not kid ourselves. I can't think of any other circumstance where you have to use somebody's preferred name casually. If they do pass...it'll open some peculiar legal doors.
Legislatively enforcing courtesy is how you formalise an aristocratic ruling class.

That already happens over in Soviet Canuckistan if memory serves me rightly. If it gets that bad here in Bongland, which thankfully seems less likely now we've banned puberty blockers, I'm taking my money and moving to a nice, based, Catholic country in Latin America.
¡Viva Cristo Rey!

Good luck surviving any Supreme Court scrutiny. SCOTUS is still extremely solid on First Amendment issues.

When it involves obscenity, sure. But in 20 years you can expect "hate speech" to be considered a legal exception to the written laws just like gun bans aren't considered to infringe on one's ability to keep and bear those banned guns.

Only if you replaced the entire court. The last time they addressed hate speech as an exception they unanimously rejected it.

Never going to happen. Support for anti-speech laws is very much in the minority in America.

All 50 Senate Republicans + Jeff Manchin have said they won't go ahead with that.
Well, hopefully Manchin holds his ground. Left-wing media is pressuring him pretty hard about reaching across the aisle to those damn, dirty Republicans. Of course, if Republicans can force every bill into a debate we might be in good shape since that way it needs a total of 60 votes to pass, and Kammy won't get a vote there since it's not simple majority.

You really think spineless Rinos like Romney and McConnel are going to say no when a nominee is actually put forward? I doubt they would.
When re-election is on the line? Yeah, I kind of do. They know they pissed a lot of people in their home states off and more people than ever seem motivated to run, so they'll do it if only to avoid being primaried by someone younger and all full of piss and vinegar. Granted, this is probably foolish optimism...
