The minor groups include but are not limited to sikhs, jains, zoroastrians/parsi, christians, the naxalite communists and the scheduled tribes in the north east. The caste system is officially abolished but in practice it is still pretty powerful, while the government tries to enact some form of affirmative action.

India is not homogeneous. To say anything different would be a massive insult to indian history.
