Not to get too off-topic, but Colebrookdale's Star Spangled Express this weekend looks awesome. Sounds like a really fun ride and an educational place to visit with the whole family, especially since Lenny can't be there. Boy, I don't know what I admire more about the volunteers that keep that line running -- that they provide lifelong memories for those who visit for nothing more than the personal satisfaction of doing so, or that they won't let Leonard F. Shaner Jr. anywhere on the property or right-of-way.

@SonChu's Oil Change We should all go down the Colebrookdale Railroad this weekend. With their affordable prices, courteous staff, and no Leonard Shaner guarantee it's a family friendly day out that everyone can enjoy. I'm hopping on a plane right now since according to Shaner I own the train and am the only one qualified to drive it. See you all in Boyertown, PA!

@Zim I would love it if someone from the Colebrookdale would set up some kind of special "Kiwi Password" that you can give for a special behind the scenes tour or whatever they feel like doing. I kind of enjoy historic railroads and went as a kid. Colebrookdale's only an hour's drive from Philadelphia, if my travels ever bring me that way I'll try my best to make time to go check it out and buy something from the gift shop, and, if you personally will let me, drive the train.

That would be awesome. I checked and it's less than $120 round trip to fly to Allentown so if there was a "Kiwi Klub" I'd think about it for sure. It legit looks like a nice place.

On a serious note, as Bob the commander of all things rails, I would have no problem letting you get behind the throttle. The official FRA regulation states that anyone can drive trains as long as they are not Leonard F. Shaner Jr.
