If you look through this thread though, you'll see it's not uncalled for. SJW is STILL a relevant term. These people fanatically pursue social justice at the cost of ethics, common sense, and logic. They deserve to be called out and mocked, not ignored or sympathized with. Unless you are an SJW, then of course you're going to defend your own.
Same difference with rightwing nutjobs. They deserve the same treatment; however, there are threads dedicated to mocking them too. It just seems silly to come into this thread complaining.

Again, I understand. I do. Outside of Kiwi Farms, such as in my election job or other websites, I've dealt with rightwing autism and it's just as cringey. I've actually had to argue with one asshole who seriously thought Mario wearing a wedding dress in Super Mario Odyssey was going to turn kids into trannies.
However, this particular thread is about leftwing autism. We see copious amounts of it every day. Biden winning the election won't make it go away either.
Like it or not, culture war drama is here to stay. Also, it's hard to empathize with people who claim every single thing under the sun as being racist, sexist, misogynist, or whatever type of label they have for some perceived offense. As for diversity in the media, it wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't just shameless, preachy, forced tokenism.

I just feel bad for black women when I see shit like this at this point. I see quotes "Black characters in the 90s were just tokens!" but then I see "designs" like this and it's the same "SJW-approved Black (tm) womxn" every damn time.
I know it's stupid to reference Red Letter Media, but I really do like their test for determining how well fleshed-out a given character is. i.e. Describe the character without saying what they look like, what costume they wore or what their profession or role in the media is/was.
I can do that with the so called "token" characters from the 90s. Just off the top of my head, for example, John Stewart in the Justice League animated series is actually my favorite best Green Lantern (fite me irl). He has a more maliable sense of right and wrong than the other members; when he makes mistakes, they seem like things an actual human would do; and when he takes the high ground, it makes sense for his character.
In contrast, the only person I can do it with in the collection above is Naomi, and even in terms of character design she's also the only one whose hair makes sense for her story and environment.

Hate to be nitpicky on this but JL premiered in the 2000s; it doesn’t change what you said, in fact the 00s had good black superheroes in cartoons like Cyborg and Static.
With John, I just wished his best showing wasn’t confined to the cartoon.

It's no different than how SJWs react to things. Just like the SJWs, this rightwinger found offense in something innocuous. Rightwing nutjobs are still around, but they don't have the same influence they did under Bush. They're not the ones actively trying to thought police and censor people these days. Considering how deeply entrenched SJWs have become in our media and pop culture, we have every good reason to criticize and mock them.
I almost get the feeling that you want us to look the other way now the Biden is going to be president. Like you want to believe all the insanity of social justice is going to evaporate or be less bad because Trump is gone. That was never the case under Obama and it sure as hell won't be that way under Biden.

Ok, 90s proper: Jodie Landon from Daria is the girl who acts like everything is sunshine and roses, pushes herself to be perfect in every way she can, but she does it because she feels she has to, not because she wants to herself. She even calls herself a "token" but the writers don't treat her that way. She gets her own character arcs and experiences that are completely independent of Daria herself.
