Whenever I see one of these garden gnome-like Aydens with their pube-beards, I can't help but wonder... who are they trying to attract with their "transition"? HSTS of both sexes tend to have a fixation on "straight" men/women, and AGPs try to (badly) emulate the girls they want to fuck, but this? A previously attractive woman turning herself into this monstrosity that would repel anyone on sight hints that woman, despite furiously lecturing people on "genital preferences", doesn't want anyone to see her as a sexual being, and the "molested as a child" angle appears plausible.

I mean, outside of being plural and the "freebirth" thing (shudder), I think she has a point. It would be great if people could stop talking about reproductive organs so much in public, just look at Kevin Gibes' thread. If you have to rant about genitals on a certain body type it's clear you're trying to justify your views either to feel better about yourself or to continue to appeal to your peers, and in the end you'll just look like a fool. When did this trans craze start to blow up?
I remember first becoming aware of SRS some 7-8 years ago when in school I read an article talking about FtMs showing off their boob scars. It was so outlandish for me at the time that I didn't really made much of it an quickly forgot about it. Then I became fully aware of the transgender phenomena somewhere within the next 2-3 years.

It's a case of gradual escalation - like all cases of porn-brain - that has then metastasized into the other parts of their life and psyche.
From my extensive anthropological research, I believe there are really five distinct but not separate ways/themes in which people 'get started':
- Tranny porn* - People serendipitously discover it and start jacking off to it and at some point, begin to shift towards self-inserting as the tranny. My guess for why this happens is that it is a case of subconsciously perceiving trannies as a men hence making it 'easier' to self-insert as compared with regular heterosexual porn combined with some priming due to incidental exposure to the notion. My impression is that this is the most common route for sub-30 year old's.
- Femdom fetish - Progress from essentially regular heterosexual porn towards something where the woman is relatively more dominant to 'femdom' fetish stuff and then on to humiliation porn of which 'sissification' is one very prominent form. Sometimes, a step or two might be skipped; gradual progression might not really be required but if you're not aware something exists and it's strange (which this shit is) then you're unlikely to constantly encounter it without first developing an interest in something adjacent.
- Panty fetishism/cross-dressing - I think this is more common in older AGPs who weren't exposed to all the fucked up porn in the world when they were younger. It's by no means an extinct route though. They either start out by fetishizing women's clothing as erotic metaphors for women (i.e. jacking off into panties) or by dressing up non-sexually just out of curiosity or whatever have you. They then progress towards proper transvestistic fetishism (i.e. jacking off in panties).
- Lesbian self-inserting - Effectively male fujoshis, they'll watch lesbian porn and end up self-inserting. I think this is quite rare and that most troons who recollect something like this are engaging in what you might call 'retrospective confabulation' but I do think that it can and does happen. I suspect that when it does it usually involves more than just regular porn, there might also be, for example, an autistic obsession with Moe anime or an interest in lesbian erotica. Additionally, just like for Fujos, I think that it is commonplace for them to imagine lesbian relationships as being radically different in terms of the interpersonal dynamics leading them to idealize lesbian relationships.
- RPing as a girl - 'Juliette' Stray's absolutely Islamic story is the best example of this, but I have definitely seen other cases of men or boys who end up basically pretending to be a girl online for laughs, attention or material benefit. I suspect that if you are a complete loner in 'real' life then you could easily come to start ideating about actually being a "woman." There isn't anything immediately erotic about this but like in the Stray story there's a non-zero chance it'll become erotic and once it does then they are likely to start escalating their habit.
None of these themes necessarily have to occur alone and in many cases will emerge in parallel or blend together in a given individual. Moreover, as coomers escalate they tend to converge, combining different motifs and practices; your tranny porn coomer starts cross-dressing, fantasizing about lesbian relationships etc.
As an aside, I've noticed that there is an increasingly large number of straight troons who don't seem to have developed paraphilic interests. Of course, that has always been the case since AGP-types have always engaged in denialism, but I think that these newer cases are more authentic in that their explanations are not obviously canned and they express ambivalence without asking the classic "Is it a fetish?". Moreover, I think this overwhelming affects younger teenagers whose age alone would make cooming an implausible etiology. Some of them seem to be proto-AGPs who have developed an interest in female clothing but others just seem to be insecure loners or autists obsessed with an anime character. I assume that this is due to children (especially kids on reddit or tumblr) these days being constantly exposed to the idea that being a troon is 'normal',
Ultimately, what it affirms is that there is no natural set of paths to trooning out. Gender identity is not real in any concrete way. It is entirely contingent on the social environment and if you normalize trooning out then basically any loser with a sufficiently unstable sense of self can fall prey to it. The AGP/HSTS dichotomy is an historical artifact of an era when only compulsive fetishism and the societal homophobia could provide the impetus for someone to troon out.
Ultimately, what it affirms is that there is no natural set of paths to trooning out. Gender identity is not real in any concrete way. It is entirely contingent on the social environment and if you normalize trooning out then basically any loser with a sufficiently unstable sense of self can fall prey to it. The AGP/HSTS dichotomy is an historical artifact of an era when only compulsive fetishism and the societal homophobia could provide the impetus for someone to troon out.
To really become a troon though, a sort of metastasis has to occur; it has to become more than just a metaphorical window that gets closed at the end of a coom session. This usually happens progressively with it first manifesting as an occasional thought before - like the cooming before it - escalating into a persistent interest and even obsession. It'll often piggy-back off any preexisting anxiety, depression or loneliness which give appeal to such escapist fantasies. In some coomers shame also plays a strange role in pushing them to try to find an explanation - really, an excuse - for their fetishism, for many it sounds more edifying to be a horribly oppressed "trans" woman than a gross fetishist.
Once they start thinking about it, they'll start visiting troon subreddits or forums where they get bombarded with the idea that:
a) they're definitely, truly "trans," since doubts are just internalized transphobia
b) that trooning out will improve your life and
c) that denying that they're "trans" will lead to a life of misery.
All three of these are dubious assertions but even the most insane ideas can seem plausible if you're effectively surrounded by people parroting them. The incipient troon once he has suppressed his doubts can move towards their "true" selves, developing a (usually online) 'feminine' persona, downloading that Her app, buying female clothing that is not either cocktail dresses or lingerie, getting HRT and most importantly fucking up the (generally few) real human relationships they have.This is always the hardest part of the process and while there are no statistics, I suspect a very large number of people stall here. Finding themselves not quite able to blow up their lives for an overgrown fetish-cum-generalized fantasy, they keep dreaming until their lives improve enough that the idea no longer has any appeal, or in some cases when they find that the reasons that they had armed themselves with no longer seem to make sense. There is also the problem of contact with reality; it's one thing to RP as an anime girl online or call yourself "Emily (She/Her)" on reddit or twitter but quite another to stare in a mirror and see a balding barrel on stilts festooned with an ill-fitting dress. Hence the inevitable "dysphoria" as well.

OP's entire post history is also either asking about getting her genitalia surgically removed or else about how she hates her body but the problem she really needs to worry about is "gate-keeping."
