IMO “you can live here if you’re not gay” is more insulting because it makes it seem like it’s your fault, you decided to get kicked out, you broke the rules. When really you never should have been forced to make that choice in the first place. If you were given an impossible ultimatum not to be yourself, you were simply kicked out and blamed for it in the process.
