He's telling everyone not to freak out about the low tips but he's the only one constantly raising the stakes
We just got one of the most confused rants at the end of the stream about contributions that I've ever heard. He has fucked himself hard on his narratives and he can't manage the current situation.
It was, of course, unrecorded for YT. Here are the key points related to the current begging (ignoring most of the abundant cope).
- Phil is in a tough position and is currently worried as a result of the chargebacks last month... he told us this much!
- The problem is the games are coming out this week and he doesn't get paid by Twitch until the 15th. This is a Sunday, so it may not even be until that Monday (the $3k bonus cheers were not mentioned)
- He doesn't want to be in a position where he can't afford all the games this week (Not sure why this matters, there literally wouldn't be time by Thursday to play them all before Twitch pays him)
- This has been one of the slowest weekends for contributions possible (I don't know what this means given that 0 is always possible)
- If it's a tough week... well, it's a tough week and that's okay (... it's okay?)
- Phil is super duper excited (anyone noticed that he says 'super duper' a lot now? I would put money that he got this from Kat; it's a potato phrase if I ever heard one)
- Don't listen to the people who need to 'throw nonsense', Phil is happy, in a good mood (but also worried...?)
- It sucks that right now, when Phil really needed the most support, he's not getting it, but there's not much that we can do about that! (So you really need help? This is an urgent situation?)
- He's grateful for all the support this year! Don't feel that Phil is screwed! This has been a great year for him!

He can apparently now afford the PS5 and the headset, and probably a couple of games... just not all of them. So that's fine too. Keep in mind that at the end of the earlier stream, he said he still needed money for all of those.
Basically he just flatly admitted he was begging and panicking over a situation that is going to be just fine, he just wanted to be able to buy every single thing, all at once, even if he wasn't going to use them. But now that he didn't get the money, he'll concede he is fine. And by the way, the Twitch paycheck will apparently fix everything anyway.
The fact that this is a finite expense and the totals are publicly available seems to escape him. He's used to people not knowing the value of his taxes/Kat's flights/interest on his $500k of debt...
The thought that people are aware he is feigning distress and therefore not giving him money apparently did not cross his mind.

These streams are almost always punctuated by one recurring mini-whale... NoCouture, SilentBob, Merdok...
They're typically around $30 with the occasional anomaly, and it is almost always either none or one of them, very rarely ever several simultaneously. So what's the deal with this elite wheelchair battalion? Are they communicating? A handful of people with several names? They're starting to stand out in the post-vest streak era because Phil would be (and sometimes is) under $50 every stream if not for one of them showing up with their $30, or some drive-by whale tipping a massive amount. He appears to almost expect to hear from them because he rarely checks the veracity of tips attached to their names on stream.

I would agree with you about Minecraft in principle, but Phil is incompetent and is actually unable to play Minecraft without Papavera spoon feeding him a guide. And not even on Twitter, he needs to be in chat telling Phil what to do, line by line. I suspect Papavera might come if Phil asked him to, but Phil also doesn't want to admit that he needs him. So instead it's cancelled permanently.
It's kind of like if things were so desperate and Phil was really fucked, he could throw a bonus evening stream on his day off and probably pull in some significant extra money if he plays SFV or something. Or hell, SFIV finally. It's not a regular thing, this is the first time in 4 years that he's had a serious expense for the business (minus whatever costs him $5k monthly in maintenance according to the bankruptcy), so it makes sense that this might be a unique week and he might have to pull out some stops.
But worth noting is that this is all a lie. Phil won't do any of this because he doesn't actually need to do any of this. His Twitch paychecks have covered everything. Tips are his fun money. So we get begging for whatever he can muster. And if the begging doesn't work... it's actually fine, it's just a few less gacha pulls. Like all those times he couldn't afford his groceries, and didn't hit the tip goal... and then didn't starve. He... uh... won the groceries in a raffle that week. But next week! Phil is a successful streamer..........because he's set the bar for "successful" extremely low. Again, mathematically, this requires us to believe that Phil got $6000 in chargebacks to negate the massive boost he received specifically to cover these expenses, or at least $2000 since that was his estimated cost of the PS5 tech.
Remember he had a massive meltdown over that potential (never happened as far as we know) $800 chargeback. But we're supposed to believe this dude got multiple thousands in chargebacks from Phil and all we got was some extra begging to hit tips goals?
