i made it through 10min of that video it was the same ranting , raving, and pure spergatory that jim sterling would do on his own videos. Imitation is the truest form of flattery one would say.

Not only that - but it's a very common practice for developers/publishers to pay streamers to play the game - in order to essentially demonstrate it to their audience. It's something that's been done for nearly a decade, meaning that developers/publishers have substantial data that investing in streamers gives them access to those audiences - and that they see a substantial return on their investment,

Regardless of Fair Use - streamers have cultivated a very specific advertising demographic and that's incredibly valuable to developers/publishers and they know it and have had a good relationship with streamers for years.

The Stadia team wouldn't know that, as they don't actual make products that people want - just re-releases of tired games and exclusives that no one gives a shit about.
 
To jump on the autism train. Technically, if devs want streamers to pay them to showcase their games, then it's in their legal right. But it doesn't happen due to game streaming being seen (and very likely being) as an overall beneficial method in creating hype for a game. So the whole argument is a pointless since no sane dev will really risk the bad press and lack of publicity.

You got timestamps where he straight up says that? Don't want to watch an hour long video for something that could probably be described in 2 minutes. And even then, there is the example I put in another post. An artist who straight up just stole others content, did minor changes, and was found to not be infringing on copyright. Even when directly stealing anothers image.
