There's only one guy at the incel meetup whose looks are an actual liability; the rest could be improved a lot by either hitting the gym (which would also improve their overall moods), getting decent haircuts and being better-groomed, or both. Most of them are not bad-looking guys at all, and a few are kinda cute, so it's definitely not their looks that are the reason they're alone.

Those Redditors, tho--mousy girl on the right in the beige top is thrilled to be the hottest one there.

I find most incels to have an attitude problem, but not without some cause. Societal expectations, clashing with women expecting more than can be realistically obtained, clashing usually with crippling shyness/self-esteem issues, leading to a self-perpetuating cycle of self loathing into external loathing into self loathing.

Usually, they are salvageable human beings. Clean themselves up, work out a bit, and work on their self-esteem and they tend to shape up alright.

I have NO such hopes for the group of alleged-people in that meetup though.

About 10 years ago I was at a red light behind a late 70s era ford station wagon - the type with the wood on the sides. Old and busted up, with some really old guy driving. It had a sun bleached bumper sticker on the back that said, "Honk if you love Nixon!" so for shits and giggles I honked twice. Almost instantly the old guy stuck his hand out the window and made the victory sign. I don't know why but that always made me smile.

Over thanksgiving when the family would get together, my grandmother the minute she got some alcohol in her right away everything was the fault of "That Goddamn Eisenhower!" It's actually become a catchphrase for me and my girlfriend because we used to find it so humorous, but my grandmother was serious. She'd make a fist and bang the table as she said it.

Man when I'm 80 something, if my grandkids ask me about Obama I'll tell them, "Shit, he was god awful" but I can't ever see myself being insanely mad about any of this shit, much less carrying it through life. I have no doubt in my mind though that people with TDS will be exactly like my grandmother when they're 80.
