I don't really hold that against him, it's mostly used for work since he's one of the main community points of contact. He definitely leans SJW though, so Tumblr has whole-heartedly embraced him.

It's nothing new. The media and Democrats have absolutely hated conservatives (Republicans mostly) ever since the election of Abraham Lincoln; with him being the first to take most of the brunt. Then came Eisenhower, JFK (a Democrat but still conservative causing him to be hated by the elites), Nixon (who was himself corrupt in his own way but still), and then Reagan who singlehandedly played the debate commission into throwing a tantrum and trying to mute his microphone that he paid for.
Now that we have Trump, it's even more of a shitshow than in the past (mostly thanks to social media), but the mission is still the same: try to get rid of him in absolutely every way possible.
It starts to make even more sense when you realize at least most of them came in after horrible presidents (especially Reagan after Carter and Trump after Obama). That only further stipulates their mission.
