Meh I don't think it's that weird that Russell has never even entertained the possibility of how he'd be as a parent. If there's one characteristic that defines Russell (next to being a raging moron) it's that he's self-centered. Considering how parents basically have to abandon their life and put the child's needs ahead of their own wants for upwards of a decade at least, I don't think it's a far cry to guess that Russell is in the "never want kids" camp.

As for the Farrah question, my guess would be A) he didn't think about it followed by B) her abandoning the kid with her dad because Russell is such a stud he requires all of her attention.

He has several siblings and I think Emily was the only younger one. So while I didn’t track anything down, I would be stunned that his extended MORMON family wouldn’t have any kids in it. And he NEVER mentions seeing them. And his former PreTaylor friends are likely married w kids by now. Never a peep about spending time with anyone and their kids.

It's truly astounding how Russ blames all his first-hand outlandish and abusive behavior on anxiety or "PTSD" and that nothing he says out his own mouth is own fault, yet in the same breath says people with disabilities must be treated fairly, not as special cases.


So then he must be held accountable for all his actions all the time, not just certain times that suits him, like you say alcoholics don't suddenly get a pardon for DUI just because they have a mental sickness for hooch.

Russell is responsible for making sure his anxiety doesn't affect other people, meaning take your meds and see a therapist before someone gets hurts>

Entirely an armchair speculation here, but do we know anything about Russell's adopted siblings, like their ages? If he's the oldest or oldest son, that could explain some of his sense of self-inportance.

And I'm sure someone in his past (like a teacher or speech and language pathologist) said that just because you have a disability or anxiety/depression, doesn't give you the right or excuse to wallow in it.
In self-contained SPED classrooms and with SPED support staff, the rule of the day--every day--is to get BETTER. Recovery and Independence are the order of the day--every day. And while you are working towards recovery and/or independence, transitional plans are supposed to be made with appropriate supports/step-down supports to encourage and grow the individual's efficacy.

Problem is, there are too many educators, administrators, support staff, and mental health professionals who like to say things like "I'm not making excuses for his behavior, but..." And then proceeds to make excuses. It's more common than people think, and I suspect the butternut squash had plenty of adult excuse makers staning for him.
