That is why its "accuser" not "victims" . These are not all victims they consented to sleep with Ryan and now regret it. Some of these accusations only reflect badly on Ryan because the context of him being married and would otherwise not be that bad.

AH uses a lot of the same mods and editors and shit. So he probably knew her. Hell, they recognize a lot of fans. If you ever watch fan mail episodes sometimes they remember names and shit. So it’s entirely possible they’ve recognized fans too and that’s why it’s hitting Jeremy so hard

Bingo. She's definitely part of the problem and trying to be on the right side of things since the ship is sinking. She's never going to go into detail on those favors.
For real, mods are some of the dick-suckiest people out there who have ended up being involved in all sorts of coverups for all sorts of fandoms. They are the thought police of their communities and will not let you slander anyone, even if it's genuine.

The yogscast had a case like this a year or two ago (though no where near as bad) and I hopped in their community discords and forums to see what it was about. Their mods were apologizing left, right, and center, for ignoring complaints about some of the youtubers. Turns out they weren't just ignoring complaints, they were shutting that shit down and continued to shut it down until explicitly told to allow the community to discuss it. If I remember correctly, the only reason it even became a community controversy is because one of the girls emailed the CEO or tweeted him or some shit and he went on full damage control mode instantly. While that situation is very different and I think overblown for what it was, I'll give props to their CEO for taking responsibility personally and giving out his work email for other victims in that case.
Mods are fucking losers 99% of the time who will do anything for those they "work" for. It genuinely blows my mind the level of servitude people are willing to voluntarily put themselves into all for a pat and the back.

This isn't just raw janny hate, there's really something weird to me about community mods like that and it probably has to do with the devotion they need to demonstrate to even be considered for the roles.

I get what you're saying, but it doesn't work like that IRL. Johns get busted for offering undercover cops cash for sex (as in "hey babe, how about $100 for a quickie?") or showing up in a hotel room with a wad of cash after some brief texting to make arrangements with an undercover cop. That's solicitation. "Hey imma pay for you to fly out here so we can boink while you're here" isn't.

Nobody's going to read through these texts and decide after the fact "oh, hey, that was prostitution, let's get 'em!" and actually spin up charges over it. What Ryan did in these cases was definitely tit-for-tat and it's absolutely clear he was expecting sexual favors in return for the money he gave them, but that's more "scummy manipulation and pressure" than it is "solicitation."

He's still a fucker for doing it though. It's thanks to assholes like him that people (especially women) are so reluctant to accept help these days, even from people they trust, because of the potential strings that come with it. Both times I've given long-time friends money to help them out of a tough spot, I've had to jump through hoops to convince them I wasn't just trying to get in their pants.

The Meg case smells fishy. She made a vague post the other day in support of the other girls, saying "I'm floored by their strength," which is some major fluffing. Not going to go look for it, but I think I even remember someone speculating that she would come out with her claims to get ahead of the train.

Ryan is an obvious predator and manipulator, but Meg was still in a position of authority over these girls. She does not have the 'benefit' of naivete, and chalking up the failed acquisition of fresh meat on her part to the other person being dense doesn't look good either. I might be more inclined to sympathy if it hadn't been for that part. Any 28-year-old with half a set of morals knows to walk away once he starts asking you to recruit kids for a harem.

you said yourself, vic was a contractor and ryan is part of rt. the situations are way different, so obv miles and other people aren't gonna react the same way. plus looking back further than the 6th, he seems to quote rt / retweet and reply more than he does tweet original stuff.

i mean we can all agree that while the current situation isn't totally ironic, the fact that rt have had to boot out one of their biggest names for doing shit way worse than vic who was booted without evidence is odd in an unexpected way which defies the normal circumstances of how a company would react. the normal circumstances obv being keeping vic and kicking ryan.

Normally would be innocent, but with all the creepy shit that has come out takes on much darker overtones.

I assume that for the time being anyone who pipes up is going to be given a full pass and a bunch of "I believe you and am here for you" posts without any real analysis of what they say. That she wrote that shows how stupid dense she is. Tone deaf, to say the least.

Different Megs. This latest accuser just happens to be named Meg and was a mod for Ryan on Youtube. She is claiming that means she "worked" for him but I imagine she did it all for free so that doesn't really apply. Meg Turney was the one being discussed earlier in the thread and made that disingenuous tweet, she used to work at Rooster Teeth along side Ryan and spent years flirting with him on and off camera.
