Come at a cop with a bat in any other context, and there's a good chance you'll eat lead. But they can do that and more when rioting, and police use only non-lethal methods in response.

And it has to be some blocced up faggot, we saw how in Louisville the actual place a cop got shot by a rioter got largely ignored because it was a stereotypical jogger that was either trying to avoid copping a felon in possession, had warrants, or a bit of both.
