You assume a great deal of cognition and awareness from Biden that I sincerely question.
Unless in this case you meant Jill Biden.
The one - ONE - option of a Trump loss that gives me comfort is him getting the popular vote, and Biden getting the electoral college. Sure my ideal is for Trump to run away with both, but if the former happens? I may seriously pop a motherboard with laughter. Because I have so many receipts with their words about that institution.
Been watching some Stephen Michael Davis recently. I may quibble with him about a few things, but he posts excellent arguments with receipts - in this case, confirmation of your thesis.
It's also why Cenk getting 5% of the vote in his election will never stop being funny to me.

It's easy to say that they got "more" deranged when Trump was elected, but that ignores the obvious part that everyone misses.
They got "MORE" deranged. They didn't "START" getting deranged.
They were already heading down this path when Obama was still president. Yes, Trump made the journey accelerate, but Trump did not START this journey.
Cancel culture didn't start in 2016.

Oh, absolutely. This is nothing new. Trump didn't get the ball rolling, and to be honest neither did Obama. It just got way worse in the past 12 years. Eventually it'll reach a breaking point and something will cause the cycle to reset.
I just hope that "something" doesn't involve people dying.

I still don't understand everyone pinning the blame for covid on Trump when it's mostly up to the state to determine how they deal with things. Federal is more dealing with things liking relief programs for federal level things, they can only involve themselves as much as the states allow. Same thing is being done in Canada with the province leadership determining the best way to deal with it, some more successful than others, with the Federal government stepping in when needed. I don't see the same level of bitching towards Trudeau for the number of deaths in different provinces, it's almost always focused on provincial leadership. Countries are right next to each other yet the perception on handling is so different.
I personally belong to the camp that is weirded out by people getting so aggressive about not wearing a mask in public, but maybe that's because where I am almost everyone would wear one when prompted at the door of businesses to please wear one. There's no need to wear one when you're just walking around outside, but most people make sure to put one on before entering any buildings (most shops also ask people to sanitize their hands when they enter). I don't see how that's much of an inconvenience unless you have a medical condition but then you're exempt from wearing a mask anyway.

1) Because Trump is the boogieman. Everything bad is his fault. Anything that he does good they will ignore (notice how there were two historic Middle Eastern peace deals this month and they are already out of the newscycle.)
2) Because 200K sounds like a lot of people. Any more than ONE is too many. It's like how people will declare there to be a national crisis of hate crimes against transgender people and then say that 30 die in the entire country in the entire year. If you say that 1 in a 1000 people under 50 die of COVID, then you are dehumanizing the people that do die.
3) Because Trump is going against the mainstream narrative. COVID is bad and everyone should lockdown no matter what. We've seen reports of states actually fudging the numbers to justify people staying under lockdown.
I know people that say with a straight face that they WISHED MORE PEOPLE WOULD DIE so that people would start taking COVID more seriously. The idea that less than 150 people under the age of 17 have died of COVID in this entire year is not seen as a good thing by them because they want to be afraid and the MSM/left tells them to be afraid. Also you are dehumanizing the 150 kids that did die. never mind the fact that if you told them back in March that so few kids would have died due to COVID they would have called you a virus-denier. In fact, people still accuse me of "repeating right-wing talking points" when I literally link them to the CDC statistics. Stephen Colbert this week came right out and said that the CDC is repeating what Trump tells them to say.
The virus is US vs. THEM, the same as any political issue, and right now the left is embracing the idea that anyone that "downplays" the virus is a terrible person.
