"I can't watch this schlocky 80's action film because one minor scene reminds me of current year politics!" It's also amazing how tropers can't think of anything beyond current year; apparently the George Floyd riots are the only riots to have ever happened.

Also, there's this lower on the page:

You have to be exceptionally autistic to get any sort of lesson from a film like this (just pure 80's cheese with the Ah-nold). Also that last sentence is pure irony, as that's all tropers have done for their entire lines.
DING! Take a drink.

I knew the site was a goner when "anvilicious" became much less common than "some anvils need to be dropped."

Like play that as a drinking game and look for when it DOESN'T appear on something.

Hey let's check that babysitters club entry from the previous page.

If a movie from the past is somehow relevant to today in any way doesn't that actually make the movie better since it proves prescient in some way?Art becomes timeless the moment it predicts certain realities of the future.Like how the movie M accurately portrays german society in crisis and the desire for a strongman to take over in the early '30s.Or how Fight club and its philosophy is basically the secular variant of Al Qaeda.

I love tr tropes, instead of applying horoscopes or a Meyers Briggs personality test I click random page.
Try it sometime.

Is it trying to tell me something about my aching left knee?

Just go with it.
Check all tropes within the sub-trope.

Hmm

I notice that on this page, TVTropes feely talks about how overworked public defenders are (and to be fair, they are) while ignoring the fact that prosecutors have a similarly large caseload, which can be just as bad as overworked defense attorneys. They also freely shit talk the idea of juries, which is bizarre. But why would you expect impartiality and accuracy from TVTropes.
