But social norms always change, we aren't running in the plains spearing mammoths anymore. Medicine too is always changing and we have conquered so much of fatal diseases - by having people live extended through artificial means.

This won't be just sexual characteristics, soon we'll have genetic editing, or new chemical ways to alter human bodies. Those things will get used for nonsensical ideas (other than actual neccesity) and it'll left us with humans who may not look "human" anymore - but they are still very close to baseline human genetically. and they'll find a place in ever changing society.

Not that I agree with it, I just think of it as a somewhat disturbing (for most people) fate humanity will be in.

I wouldn't hold your breath on this one. Gene editing is nowhere near ready for prime time, and even if it was, about all we could do is correct known defects (cystic fibrosis). Anything else is unethical in the extreme.

I wouldn't hold my breath for doctors sticking to ethics either. This always happens when a new medical techniques or fad has just been devised and we see a lot of them jumping on the train to cash out the next big thing even if the negative side effects haven't been understood OR the whole idea is questionable at best.

Short Short FTM have got to be the same as Chin CHIN MTF. There are some things you CANNOT fix that will instantly gender you. These two things are very much high on the list.

We'll never have a genderless society unless you manage to completely make humans sexless and we ascend to a plane where our bodies have no genitals or other characteristics that mark us as a specific gender. Just a generic flesh suit. 'Children' are pod spawned. Etc. Some aspects of gender roles/expectations are shit made up by humans but there's also biological aspects that fuel some of them. Women tend to be nurturers because they carry and birth the young. Men tend to be hunter gatherer because they aren't the ones carrying the child and their natural strength assists in that. Feminists like to preach that we can have some utopia of everyone able to do what they want but it's not practical, there are differences between the sexes that will dictate their abilities/interests/etc. and that will not change unless you completely eliminate biological sex and render all humans into an organism where they are all exactly the same in all biological aspects.

You need only go outside and see how many Cis are wandering around to know that we're never going to reach a point where Troons are common or accepted. You can see how they normal people treat them, usually? polite but cold. Heterosexuals and 'Cisgender' rule the world and are great at othering anyone who doesn't fit in. They're the largest sexuality and 'Gender' because they are what humans evolved to do to keep the species going. This thread is only a bunch of losers living in run down houses desperately trying to have some relevance and imo. most of the posters here have the attitude that almost everyone really holds- they're freakshows to be mocked. There's never gonna be a point where enough people troon out that they change the world's perception of 'sex' and 'gender' because they'll always be vastly outnumbered by the Cis-Hets who will be congenial to a point but carefully regulate them to the fringes of social society.

IMO. Gene editing would prove that all these idiots are liars. If you can edit genes to remove mental illness and transgenderism then there's no way these troons ever come to exist and it implies you discover the 'genes' that cause it. So if you don't have those genes because you just don't, you're tested and found not to have them, or they were pruned out - and you're born and then try to claim you're trans? You're bold faced lying and it's provable. Gene editing and having documented genes that cause X/Y/Z can both prove who is and who is not 'true trans' and fix them before they're born broken. It's probably the worst nightmare of all these people because one little test could confirm or deny their claims and if you weren't 'truly trans' then there's no reason to be given support for it.
