Melinda comes from a broken home that we have some idea about. She is very proud of escaping it. Unfortunately her narcissism prevents her from recognizing that she's just recreating it. I would hope someone as smart, stable, and recovered from her trauma as Melinda claims to be would understand just how important a stable home life is for a child. Instead she pumps out kids from whatever wife beater, cult member, and petty criminal she decides to open her legs for that night while getting evicted and moving constantly. That doesn't even get into the day to day of their lives. Just the overarching themes of abandonment and lack of stability are troubling.
