People forget about social niceties in high-stress situations like these, with a famous example being Macho Ma'am Tranny Savage. Ironically for people who insist so much that gender norms are bullshit, the parents just enforced gender norms on her daughter. If they had, from the start, been clear that girls could like videogames and that everybody should shower and eat their veggies, this could all have been avoided. But no, only boys do that. Some parents are at fault, like the Munchie moms and the supersoys who actually want a transkid so they can use it for fame or woke one-upmanship, but for other parents who balk at the idea and have to be convinced or emotionally blackmailed, it's the doctors who are to blame. Doctors could put a stop to 100% of this immediately if they would insist on evidence-based treatments and insist on upholding their Do No Harm oath. But instead, doctors are telling parents their kid will commit suicide if they don't sign on the dotted line for surgeries and drugs and start calling little Gabriella "Quincey" or"Beckett" or "Sebastian" or whatever is the new Aidan these days. Doctors should be reporting Munchies and soyparents to CPS instead of encouraging and enabling pediatric transition. Parents can't do this shit to their kids by themselves. The doctors make it happen.
