Jim Sterling released a new video talking about the Epic/Apple situation, and while I do agree on the overall sentiment, the first minute of the video ruffled my feathers a bit

Apparently, he's called Mer-Man, and he's from He-Man. Why him specifically is anyone's guess.I don't know who the fish man that he keeps showing images of, but I'm guessing it's Jim's latest attempt at making a viral meme. Four hindered and twelfth times the charm.
His commie ramblings have really become pervasive. I think his audience understands that he doesn't like corporations, but he literally spends 10-15 minutes reinstating that in basically every video. That should have been a 3 minute video. The entire message, opinion, and point was said in the first 3 minutes. The rest is just padding of the most cynical kind.
Repeating over and over that these companies make millions of dollars, and therefor shouldn't complain. Because they're rich. They have millions of dollars. I don't have millions of dollars. You don't have millions of dollars. But Epic and Apple are arguing over who gets millions of dollars. You know who else has millions of dollars? Marvel. Sony also has millions of dollars. Yet Marvel and Sony had a lawsuit where millions of dollars were at stake.
Even writing that as a joke makes me feel bad for wasting your time, but Jim pads out the video with 10 minutes of that shit.

A reviewer stating his real opinions on a game is not “pompous” and if this is true he was right in telling escapist to go fuck themselfI just realize I typed Escape Artist instead of Escapist, derp. But yeah, generally not a good idea to tell your employer to fuck off, you fat pompous prick.

Main reason why I stopped watching him in the first place. His commie ramblings have really become pervasive. I think his audience understands that he doesn't like corporations, but he literally spends 10-15 minutes reinstating that in basically every video.
Anathema to succeeding in any industry. And Jims hard line attitude that any decision made with money in mind is cancer, is anathema to actually succeeding in the industry.
No, he's always done that. He likes using a still image as a sort of "reaction gif" like you would see on twitter. He does it with that pink thing with the nose as well as the Age of Barbarian face. I've seen him use other he-man characters as well, not just the fish dude. Its sort of his editing trademark. Now he pays someone else to do it, but creatively, he's always done that.I don't know who the fish man that he keeps showing images of, but I'm guessing it's Jim's latest attempt at making a viral meme. LEt's be honest, the only games Jimbo will ever recommend is boring walking sims made by his Hipster buddies. The thing that infuriates me about mostly negative big name game reviewers like Jim is that they will never ever talk about obscure games that are actually good and deserve your money (unlike, for example, Ssseth, Civvie or Mandalore). When it's coupled with anti-capitalism it comes across as extremely hypocritical - "corporations are bad but I'll not play nor recommend a game from a small developer".
Pretty much, but those games suck balls and are usually hyped as hell because the whole reviewer community is incestuous.LEt's be honest, the only games Jimbo will ever recommend is boring walking sims made by his Hipster buddies.
Money is bad. Unless it's Jimbo's!The thing that infuriates me about mostly negative big name game reviewers like Jim is that they will never ever talk about obscure games that are actually good and deserve your money
I'm honestly not sure it's a thing that happened more than the once I noticed it, but I remember a video of his a while back where one of his editors snuck a plug in for an indie game that sounded interesting that I remember looking into. I think I turned it down because it was an RTS style game and I was completely burnt out on the genre at the time. The thing that infuriates me about mostly negative big name game reviewers like Jim is that they will never ever talk about obscure games that are actually good and deserve your money (unlike, for example, Ssseth, Civvie or Mandalore). He's done this padded out video for a long time now. He used to do ok material but it's all just the same shit over and over again. He's full of shit but his videos beat you over the head with the 'point', and since everyone is a retard now, people need that to get that point. That should have been a 3 minute video. The entire message, opinion, and point was said in the first 3 minutes. The rest is just padding of the most cynical kind.

Just like every other tumblrite, he's only doing that for attention and to seem progressive. Can't cancel Jim Sterling, he's tumblr-gender certified.I don’t know if this is related or has been posted before but he lists They/Them pronouns on his twitter and calls himself “gendertrash”

He revealed it at the end, it was part of his wrestling get up. He needs to do a better job of whiping it off afterwards (gives away the game of him actually having recorded the end bit first.)I don’t know if this is related or has been posted before but he lists They/Them pronouns on his twitter and calls himself “gendertrash”
