I think the portrayal was fair enough especially since this was a kids movie for international audience. Sure gypsies were oppressed and Esmeralda was a badass willing to stand up when others bullied but otherwise gypsies were not shown to be anything that great. They ganged up on Quasimodo and Phoebus, Court of Miracles almost executed them while mocking them and especially Clopin was a straight up asshole. Also whites were not universally evil. Beyond our heroes there is strong implications that other were also helping out despite this being deadly dangerous and we see the priest standing up against Frollo multiple times. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a very uneven movie but parts it does well it tends to do really well, I think this falls under that.

Wild Animals are beautiful. None of them are trans and none of them are lgbt. This is gross and I hate it. These animals aren't even symbolic of trans people. What animals can change gender. I'll tell you. Clownfish.

Well, in cattle you have what are known as freemartins, which are cows that shared the womb with a male twin. Because they're masculinized in utero by the bull's hormones, they grow up with male behaviors and think they can mount the other ladies. That's as medically similar to human transgenders as you can get.

That's interesting. But I wonder if its really homosexuality as humans understand it, or if its the mating instinct in overdrive. A dog will hump anything , a lot of male animals rape other male animals as a show of dominance. And there is this one instance I remember where a male kangaroo tried to fuck a corpse because it needed to fuck that badly.
