And that's the key, isn't it. That is what's going to happen. I think a machine has been slid into place over the course of this disaster, that Americans have been distracted with riots, with the wu flu and associated financial distress, the upsetting of their lives, that nobody has noticed that a whole rube goldberg machine has been assembled behind the scenes. There will be demands for poll shutdowns, mail-in votes only and don't be surprised if some genius at the DNC starts demanding a "voting app" so Chinese agents and botnetsperfectly legal US citizens can tap a couple of smartphone buttons and vote from the couch.
I think they'll do everything they can to ratfuck Trump and rig the votes, but at the same time I do think there's a good chance that Kamala's such poison that not only will she alienate blacks and progressives and depress the voter turnout but also energize enough of Trump's voter base and swing enough centrists to vote for Trump that it'll be very difficult to rig the election with an actual level of plausible deniability.
I still think Hillary Clinton only won the popular vote in 2016 due to electoral fraud and that may also have been why Trump's win was seen as so blindsiding and unexpected. Plus I also think that Trump is testing the waters for pushing the issue of voter fraud given his ballsy tweets on the topic of mail-in voting a few weeks ago.
My mother just texted me to say what a wonderful choice Harris is for VP.
So A&H, should I do a flip now, or at least wait until Biden wins in a few months?
Vote for Trump and then wait until the election is over before making any harsh decisions.
I think Kamala as VP might tip the election in Trump's favor, going from 50/50 to around 60/40 or 65/35 of a Trump win. Plus, I think certain newly minted blue states or blueish-purple states will be in play for 2020 with Kamala as the VP (and the actual choice behind a Biden vote) most notably Virginia, in addition to the usual swing states of Florida and Ohio or the blueish-purple states of Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Virginia may be a blue stronghold but it's a more recent phenomenon and given how Northam has alienated the majority of the state outside of the usual Richmond and NoVA hotspots and how badly Richmond was fucked by BLM and Antifa in the riots, I think Trump has a chance at winning Virginia even if it's just part of a one-time "last hurrah" for the GOP.
All those black voters in Richmond, NoVA, and Hampton Roads/Norfolk are a lot less likely to vote for Kamala and are more likely to stay home come November and while I can see a lot of the more progressive-leaning suburban Karens in places like Roanoke, Charlottesville, and the more upscale suburbs of NoVA holding their nose and going for Biden, I don't think it would be enough to counter-balance a depressed black vote and a very angry and energized voter base in the Old Dominion's numerous red counties.
I'm voting for Trump this year.
