Try telling that to the Texas court, Jamie, when there's a big difference between the shows: characters' ages. If I steal something, I have demonstrably gained something and you have demonstrably lost something. Like if I steal your bicycle. +1 bicycle to me, -1 bicycle to you.
Piracy makes a copy, so there is no material loss or gain. You can argue about potential lost revenue, but that would assume the pirate would have bought the product legally if there was literally no other alternative, which is iffy at best.
Sure I believe people should be paid for their work, but build a fucking better product that treats paying customers better than the pirates do.
