Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. "

1 John 2 is all about obeying Jesus's commands. So it also doesn't matter what you did or didn't say about Jesus giving commands, the canon talks about Jesus giving commands.

Look, I know reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, theoretical scientists are still attempting to determine what that is, but the subject of the sentence is Yeshua, and he is the one who intercedes for us provided we obey his commands. The father is the object of the sentence, the one to whom Jesus intervenes on our behalf, but it is Yeshua and his specific commands that are the subject of the passage.
