Who are THESE PEOPLE to decide whether or not an intersex person (extremely rare BTW) wants corrective surgery??
Who are THESE PEOPLE to decide that someone who is intersex should be condemned to a life of depression and feeling "othered" because they were not allowed corrective surgery as an infant so they can integrate and feel normal??

Jesus Fucking Christ... Gimme top hats IDGAF.

For a bunch of assholes SCREECHING about Cultural appropriation, they've sure learned pretty damn quick to appropriate a VERY RARE medical condition--often with co-morbidities and high cancer risks--to use as a cry bully cudgel.

Also. As a NATAL LESBIAN, I (clap) AM (clap) NOT (clap) A (clap) FUCKING (clap) QUEER (clap clap clap clap SLAP ACROSS ALL YOUR TROON FACES).

By this same logic we shouldn’t fix cleft palettes. It’s what you born with right and it’s your choice down the line if you want to fix it or not. There’s a revolutionary treatment for children born with Harlequin Ichthyosis that while they’ll be hairless and have red skin, can allow them to live a normal lifespan. No that’s their choice to make despite the fact that with said condition they’re certain to be dead before reaching a year old without treatment. Why the fuck are your forcing Type 1 Diabetics to take insulin fucker? That’s their choice. I know I’ve pushed this argument to a logical extreme but it still holds up imo.

Kids that are born intersex have those surgeries to allow them to piss.

It's fucking necessary.
To be fair it said cosmetic. I assumed that meant surgery just for looking normal not functionality. In some intersex conditions the plumming works well enough but looks very odd or works well enough for urinating but sex is hard or impossible. In those cases the current medical standard is to wait till the child has idea what they want. Not necessarily adulthood but can understand general idea of if surgery is wanted and what gender will be aimed towards.

Maybe if the child's name is Eliza and she wants to go by a short nickname like Zaza, but I don't think parents humor random name changes either.

A nickname is something someone else gives you. If you suddenly demand to be called "Spike" people are just going to laugh at your autistic ass, and they should.

We don't say that.

Also legit never heard of a kid who wanted to pick their own name with their parents being okay about it.

I've heard of it a little, but not in like, a serious way? But sometimes a really little kid will be like "I'm Spider-Man!" and their parents will be like "aww okay Spider-Man time for your spider-nap" or whatever. Like, they're just playing along with the kid and calling them whatever because it's a cute lil phase they'll be over by tomorrow. They don't take the kid to get their name officially changed to Spider-Man Lewis on their birth certificate.

I have seen people make their own nicknames but they have been pretty standard ones from their own name, so something like Betty or Lisa for Elizabeth. People tend just go "oh ok" to those but anything more special let alone complete name change is harder sell.

I did know one girl that went with few different nicknames that were completely different from another. She had two part name that was kinda akwkward so she went with different parts and compinations of names. These were not most part given by other people but by her changing her mind what she liked pretty often. I think the main reason why she was able to pull it off was, that she learned to be cool with people not keeping up with them. Those that had know her from before she changed her mind we're allowed call her whatever she liked to be called at time. I think she eventually settled being called with her full name as that caused least amount confusion but I haven't heard about her in years.

I've known a fair few people who did that as kids. Decided they didn't like their name and wanted to be called something different. Generally, the parents rolled their eyes and might play along with a mild mockery the child didn't pick up on.

But the change didn't take place outside the house - no school had to be updated, no classroom of kids had to be told not to say the old name or they'd get suspended. And even more importantly, the parents would humour it because they knew it was a phase - something troons claim kids never go through, it seems.

All those people stopped or forgot the name change within a couple of days. Because kids try stuff on as they're growing up to see if it fits, and getting an idea to try something new is part of growing up. As is realising some things aren't for you, and going back to how things were.

Which is much easier to do when there are no drugs, laws or surgeries to deal with.

In the insane world of troon logic, where the people pushing hardest for this are all, like Labelle, people who have no children and do not work with children, it would work like this:

Kid, Age 3: "I'm Spider-Man!"
Parents: "Yes, you are!" <calls kid "Spider-Man" ever after, calls daycare and makes them call him Spider-Man, marks clothes "Spider-Man">
Sensible people: "Why are you calling him Spider-Man"?
Parents: "He wanted that to be his name. We only changed it socially. If he wants to change it back he just has to say!"
Sensible people: "Hey kid, are you Spider-Man? How do you know?"
Kid, Age 4: "I'm Spider-Man. Of course I'm Spider-Man, I've always been called that. Everyone calls me that. Why do you ask?"
