If this were true, wouldn't it change the trans movement's dictates on how to handle transition? The current mandate from our troon overlords is that everyone, including two year old children whose parents accuse them of touching a pink blanket or playing with a truck one time, should be immediately transitioned to an extreme degree once they have been identified as trans. But why do all of that if the expectation is that they will "change gender", possibly in a way that makes their previous transition harmful and damaging to them while also being permanent and unfixable? (After all, you can't un-atrophy a uterus.)

Whoops, there I go again, expecting the trans movement to make any sense whatsoever. Nevermind. Recommence sterilizing of little children and all that, I suppose.

That's the thing: You can never go back, not really. Even women who detransition will never be able to have their natural voice back, stop growing excess facial and body hair, have a functional vagina and uterus and be able to have children of their own, etc. And it's obviously lovely if you can see all of that and come to terms with it, but it's still a lot and it creates this absolutely massive divide between these women and other women, society, etc. It's something you'll always have to explain to new partners, deal with, go to the doctor about, etc.

And (putting my tinfoil hat on) that's why the trans movement pushes so hard for early, fast, no-questions-asked, free of cost transition services. Because they (the movement, especially the rich trans-identified men heading this shit up) want more trans people out there to bolster and support their movement and ideas. And between the fact that you can never truly detransition and the way the trans movement treats detransitioners like traitors and liars, they make sure to keep the number of people saying "hey, this actually didn't help me at all" to an absolute minimum.

depends on the dose and how long you take it
a high enough dose, taken consistently, over a long enough time (months or over a year) will absolutely make you infertile

T causes vaginal atrophy. Dryness. Etc. You can see the horror story of the FTM pornstar for example. It stops your periods AND they don't just take T, I imagine they suppress their natural hormones like the male counterparts do. Could you get pregnant, possibly, but it's very difficult.

It really depends on the dosage and duration and stuff. Exogenous testosterone in women causes vaginal atrophy, as remiem noted, and it can also cause uterine atrophy if you take it for long enough. Porn star Buck Angel had a whole thing a while back about how she had to have a hysterectomy because her uterus had atrophied and was causing her pain (if you ever read/hear an ftm talking about feeling "stabbing pain" every time she orgasms, that's apparently the leading sign of uterine atrophy).

The trans-identified women who get pregnant are typically either not on testosterone at all, or they're on a low dose and haven't been taking it for very long. Some of them can just get pregnant if they go off testosterone for a while, but it's more difficult and sometimes involves IVF (like Corn Flakes said).

It's really, really horrifying how many side effects there are to long-term use of exogenous hormones alone (which is usually pushed as the "safest" of transition "treatments") we're just now finding out. And it'll only get worse once the kids they've got taking them from age twelve or thirteen start growing up and experiencing weird new health problems that, I'm sure, the trans movement will insist have nothing to do with their transitions... or if they do, hey, it's worth it. Better a kid having a massive heart attack at 19 due to continuous use of exogenous estrogen because he played princess once when he was three than a dead son! Etc.

It will lead to miscarriage, probably. Something similar happens to women with PCOS, because their T level without meds tends to be high.

The oophrectomy/hysterectomy is mandatory. Not for hormone production. Aside from sterilization purposes, they're performed for FTMs because testosterone makes the risk for uterine/ovarian cancer higher. Cut the root before it grows, so to speak. Uterine atrophy is also the cause for the hysterectomies due to the shrinkage/thinning causing pain during orgasms and painful spasming, to the point where some FTMs get those estrogen pills(?) you insert in the vagina to negate the atrophy instead of getting surgery.
