The federal Violence Against Women Act specifically has a provision for women who have this done to them because it's such a stereotypically common thing for abusive men to do.
It's so common the basic rule if your shithead husband thinks he's smart by doing this is you just automatically get a green card, barring some other thing like you committed a crime or are deportable for some reason other than losing your sponsorship.

Interfering mothers are not uncommon, a lot of the time the son grows up, sees it is an unhealthy relationship, sets firm boundaries and both of them are happier for it.
It looks to me like he leans into his mother's co dependent traits when it suits him, because he's in a financial or legal hole or just when he wants his house cleaned.

From what Ashli said, he wouldn't give her the documents needed to get the application started. She specifically mentioned his birth certificate at one point.
In the original thread, several posters who've been through the process mentioned that the US citizen spouse has to do a lot of stuff before it gets to interview stage, so the most she could have done was collate stuff for him to submit - if he gave her the necessary documents, which she claims he didn't.

You are basically fucked if the citizen spouse isn’t proactive and cooperative. The citizen has to initiate the process and do lengthy applications with documentation (like birth certificates and tax returns) because they are petitioning on behalf of the non-citizen spouse and have to show they can financially support them for like seven years in necessary.
It’s a pain in the ass, paperwork intensive and very firm deadline process, if the citizen spouse is lazy, disorganized or an asshole the immigrant spouse is royally fucked. Lowtax was all 3 of those.
I’m sure as the marriage disintegrated he saw it as the ultimate ace in the hole or stick to keep Ashley completely fucked and under his thumb.

One of Richard's stated reasons for stalling on the XenForo migration was that he was certain that XenForo was just about to be upgraded to a brand new version and then, according to Richard, all the work done on the migration up to that point would be a sunk cost and updating to the newer version of XenForo would be a disaster.
I thus watched with interest as the Kiwi Farms was brought offline and upgraded. To my amusement, the upgrade took place with almost no issues or bugs. Richard is full of shit.

I think he also wanted to hire some of the xenforo people to handle the migration. They said it would take at least six months and over $100,000 to move his shit heap over the way he wanted.
He should have just moved the users over, archived the old forum, and start fresh.
