How convenient that Becky tries to smooth over some of her greatest (vile) hits in one manic tweet spree:
- Mom "used" to pay for her to dye her hair? Mami definitely still pays and probably has no idea she is "estranged" from Becky.
- Partner paid for Disney? Still trying to fix her biggest scam, where she claimed she would die without strangers feeding $1000 to her narcissism paying for her routine medical procedure. Then, with zero self-awareness, bragging that she had been planning a $10K Disney World vacation for a month+. The partner angle was played when people noticed she was scamming, which no one believed. It was one of the few times her obvious lies got her hand slapped. She's still salty as fuck about it now.

Yeah, how could white people possibly understand the totally Latinx-unique experience of immigrating or being the only person from a family who got free from a shitty country and got a chance to make it?

Oh wait, the entire musical is literally about Anglo people who had that exact experience. Most white people whose families immigrated to the US have a story of deprivation and sorrow that led to that family leaving everything behind. I'm from an area where everyone's descended from Swedes and Norwegians, who came to the US in huge numbers when food and resources were scarce in Scandinavia. It broke all their hearts to leave behind the old country, but they thought their kids deserved a better life.

One of the things the emphasis on skin color has gotten rid of is the way that America has had wave after wave of immigration for basically the same set of reasons from all over the world. Europe may look nice and civilized now, but the 19th century was a mess of famines, totalitarianism, and stagnation in a lot of places. I kind of thought part of the goal of Hamilton was making these connections explicit, but fangirl Becky seems to have missed it.

There were a few weird things about this move. I think it got missed here, but Becky didn't actually go to see the new house until after they confirmed they were getting it. They never announced they were looking for a new place - they just dropped one day they were really hoping to get this place. They got the house around June 11th but Becky didn't actually see it until July 1.
It could have been put on the market before people moved out, sometimes places in certain markets are so hot that they do rent without anyone seeing them. It could have been a slammin deal, and/or maybe something is wrong with the place.
