This is something I've noticed too, but to be fair I'm in the suburbs of a small city that's fucking exploded in the past decade. Since I've lived here, the population has practically grown another digit. Can't go a single day without seeing at least half a dozen northerner car tags.

Also the dating scene has gone from bad to worse. Fuckin blue-haired ACAB-types who base their entire personality around lefty politics and weed have flooded the local dating sites :/

Juneteenth was small however. Trying to make it a big national holiday is new and totally astroturfed.
 
Let me put it this way, I grew up in a deep blue area with property tax revenues necessary to have some of the best schools, I took a lot of history in HS and college, all my teachers and profs were extremely liberal, though only one of them idiotically so.

I never once heard Juneteenth ever mentioned before this year. Ever.

I heard about Juneteenth a long time ago - at least over a decade ago - and not in the way you did. It was in school, on the Internet somewhere, or something. I was familiar enough with it that I didn't go "June-whath?" when people started talking about it this year.

It's not a new thing; it's just that the ridiculous emphasis on it is new.

what if, on a 1 percent chance the boomer fear mongering is true? I mean think about it, this July fourth in certain states are still in lockdown mod. so people would be celebrating at home maybe shooting off fireworks. it probably wouldn't be hard to do a crack down on suburbs if the cops aren't anticipating large gatherings and crowds, emergency services would be too engaged with breaking up drunken fights and dealing with firework mishaps. Especially in a rural area cops can get mired up real quick with small squabbles. figuratively speaking it wouldn't be hard to pull that kind of stunt in the suburbs during July 4th.

That's just it isn't it? Remove EVERYTHING. Take out the arrests for pot, the jay-walking, all of it. You can't hide bodies. Just look at murders. I'm not some crazy racist that thinks blacks are inferior. But their community is currently more violent than just about any other right now. I think there is an argument for more policing not less. Of course the people screaming loudest to get rid of the cops are those least likely to need them.

Maybe it'll stabilise into some collectivist bullshit where day care and public schools are expanded into "community-based child rearing" (which is what BLM advocates), and raising a child with 2 parents will be seen as "inefficient" and "needlessly restrictive" . Though I'm not sure why a woman would want to carry a pregnancy to term just for the kid to be snatched by the state.

Meanwhile, maybe people should be cancelling these black celebs as well for doing blackface themselves. I do remember some backlash in the past, but I've also seen many people say that its "done now" or downplaying this or they're not going to "cancel" them because of their actions here.

If y'all kick the T's out, you'd be a whole lot better off. In all reality I run with quite a few hard-right type people and I'd say 90 percent of them have no real problem with gays and the other 10 percent would be willing to rethink their opinion if they didn't have pride bullshit shoved in their face constantly.
