As far as I'm aware, they haven't directly stated if she's transgender or not.

I can't decide if Fuckerman wanted Abby to be trans or not. On the one hand, I can definitely see him hyping up Abby as being the first transgender main character of a big and popular game. He wants the woke points and all the free positive publicity that would come with it. It also makes a great shield against criticism if the game tanks, you can just blame it on people being transphobic. However, he likely didn't expect that he would be 'canceled' for making a troon beat and murder women, a huge No No in the SJW world. So, I can see Abby being trans but that decision is currently being walked back after the backlash from the leaks. I expect them to deny her being transgender or at least never directly saying one way or another in an attempt to avoid pissing everyone off.

On the other hand, I can also see Abby being created without her being transgender. I feel like it would be overkill, even for the SJW crowd, to have two transgender characters in the game. Plus, they have to know that their target demographic really isn't going to want play a game that sounds like a SJW fest.

At any rate, it doesn't really matter if Abby is a "real" women or not, she was still created to look exactly like a man to push the stupid transgender narrative.

Yes and yet again it's such a glaringly obvious example of bad writing there's a trope for it called Bury Your Gays and the LGBTQ community fucking hates it because straight people do this shit all the time.
