Dude, the riots are crazy and all but I don't think you should be justifying the cops. Like I don't care if he didn't die from that or if he actually could breath, you don't put force on someone's neck like that, especially not for an extended period of time. He was out of line anyway you look at it.

In the video it appears he had his knee on his back and his shin on the back of his head, that's a fair move. This is why if you want to ACTUALLY choke someone out and put pressure on them from behind, you need to wrap your arm around the front of their neck and squeeze. That is how you choke someone. You can try this at home, have someone come up behind you and try to choke you on the back of your neck with both hands. It doesn't work. What you are seeing someone who is panicking in public while being arrested, most likely on drugs.

If we want to go down this road than all detainment is inhumane, pushing anyone to the ground face first is inhumane, wrestling with a suspect is inhumane, tazing is inhumane.
The people who are aghast at this haven't watched police bodycam videos where black suspects are able to draw guns and knives even with 2 officers wrestling them to the ground, this actually happened a year or so ago. Everyone similarly freaked out that the guy was shot until they showed he was pulling a gun and trying to shoot them even as they were trying to cuff him. Or they rush you with a knife even after you taze them.

You know who says "I can't breathe I am in pain" and cries? 90% of all people getting arrested. "I can't breathe" is a meme in the black community at this point, they say these on all kinds of arrests now because they know people are filming (either bodycams or bystanders.) White girls hyperventilating in the backs of police cars say they can't breathe either, while screaming "rape" while being handcuffed. I don't take hysterical people at their word and burn down cities.

Coming from a New England state, its very annoying how many people, especially college age kids who pretend as if they're poor, are shoving their opinions on social media now about this situation, when they would be the first to get torched in a riot.
Acting as if burning down everything in the city is justified. In reality, the community in MN that was already poor is now even poorer, businesses will never come back, thus removing low income work for the working class, rent will skyrocket in price, and the police will be on high alert, leading to encourage more looting, more burning, and creating a vicious cycle of murder and chaos.

The next Detroit is being created before our very eyes and I have to deal with people justifying it.

In more detail than prior posters: casein. Casein is lipophilic, that means it dissolves lipids. Lipids generally don't dissolve in water (ya know, oil and water don't mix, cause water is polar and lipids apolar) so milk has water, it also has a lipid solvent, and so, it dissolves pretty much anything at least somewhat. It also has a basic pH so it counters acids, and it's generally pretty easy to obtain and use. Other things have casein water and a neutral pH of course, paint and glue for instance. But I do not recomend taking a glue shower or drinking paint. So milk is generally the best chemical counter every person has lying around in their hope.

Nobody is that bent out of shape over mere property damage. Largely people are empathizing with min wage workers, managers, franchisees, and small business owners who are out of a job during a time with record unemployment. Not to mention Precinct 3, whose median household income is 50k, is now a food desert. All of these factors are going to an overall lower quality of life for locals if not flat put homelessness while the rich and powerful they're trying to stick it to laugh in their gated communities and McMansions.
