The ironic thing is that, part of being a 'nazi' is also about trying to remain pure, sticking to the principles, and to your beliefs in the face of supposed degeneracy and trickery by the Jews. It's a weird set of circumstances. "Alt-right" was a vague label that had a ton going for it. Just reading it, you think "an alternative to the existing right." It picked up immense momentum in 2015-16, and bridged a lot of divides. What set everything in motion was Milo posting an article which set out to define the alt-right. Really, it was a pretty fair article when it comes to describing the thing as it was at the time of publishing. Now, ironically, Anglin saw that article as an attempt to gate-keep, and in turn, he published an article which was more prescriptive. The article took a hard-line approach, demanding that the alt-right be explicitly anti-Trump's Chosen and pro-white. He made a point of excluding people such as Milo (fag one of Trump's Chosen People), and made the point that the label must be defended. The irony is that, a few years hence, the label would become tantamount to plain-old "nazi," and Anglin would make the move toward "America First," arguing that the enemies of white people are inherently America-haters, and the response would be to be pro-American and present as regular people. Yet, in doing so, he divided much of the former alt-right, and his article had been the main impetus of excluding fellow travelers from using that label, leading to its being abandoned by virtually everyone. He effectively managed to halve the alt-right itself, ruin that label, and then halve what remained a second time.
In fairness to him, the first halving was just about solely comprised of grifters, and the second halving was probably a mix of grifters and feds. But then again, it's hard to see the pushing of Christianity as anything other than grift. In the end, hopefully he's right and this lockdown nonsense causes major societal collapse. But really, the idea that people are going to share his articles because he doesn't have a section dedicated to "the Trump's Chosen problem" is laughable.
Anglin literally just says shit these days so he can get the appeal from whomever is trending out there in RW Internet. Few years ago it was Sonnenrad avis he was pandering to, now, its Vatican flags on Twitter.
The entire "America First" and Christian Traditonalist (specifically Catholic) trends that have been going on in RW Internet are all just LARPs and optics. They wave American flags and wear MAGA hats to try appeal to neocons so they can somehow convert them to AmNattery, however they don't realize once they talk about Israel to a neocon they'll just ignore them or call them a nazi.
Hardly any of them are actually that patriotic, because America was ultimately founded as a LibRight country, with a strong sense of liberalism with all that entails. The entire founding of America was a middle finger towards extreme traditionalism, like flipping off the English monarchy, states rights, etc. these people tend to be AuthRights (their solution to everything is to somehow hijack the Gov't and and then control the Gov't do everything they want and some are unironic monarchists who believe in setting up a monarchy or papacy in the US or whatever will benefit everything) who now call themselves AmNats rather than Alt Right because that term became tainted by the media and grifters. Although its not like AmNat is any better of a name since it still has mainstream taboo word of nationalist in the title.
In an differnet situation where Alt Right hadn't became the boogeyman word as it is, AmNats would drop all presences of their 'American Nationalism', and just don European flags a la "My ancestor
The Christian trend is just a reaction to how a few years ago Neopagans or Athiests were the majority on RW Internet ever since a few figures who share those beliefs have been brought as cringeworthy like Spencer, the thing to do is to LARP about how much of a Based Catholic you are because you play CK2 and how you're Trad. It's mostly about trying to look cool and not be lumped with them, though ultimately the Christian LARP is just another trend. While some form of the Christian Right could be brought back some day with the same power it used to have in the 80s to early 2000s, the fake Catholics won't be the ones in charge of it.
I can see RW Internet shifting into White Sharia (with actual Islam) or White Israelite (white people are the real Jews!) in the next few years though, lol.
