Children shows can show open gay couples, but does that mean that EVERY children's show has to be crammed with more lesbians than a Dykes on Bikes motorcycle rally? Gay people only make up three percent of the population. They tend to cluster in Cities, but even there, straight people outside of college are going to be hard-pressed to find more than a few gays in their social circle. This cramming of gays into kids shows could turn into a disaster for the gay community as it will:

A). Validate the "inclusion is a slippery slope" argument of the religious right.
B.) Lead to people thinking that gays and lesbians are unhinged as deranged shippers project their own unhealthy fetishes and relationships into the shows they work on.
C.) Create an even more toxic social media community around these shows, as the LGBTQ set gets into slapfights over how gay relationships are portrayed.
D. Draw lots of perverts, pedophiles and groomers into the fandoms (which will not go unnoticed by anti-gay advocates.)
E. Lead to no one being happy, because there really is no way to please all shippers on every level. Even if the showrunners give them everything they want, and portray Popular Male Franchise Character #1 giving an onscreen rimjob to Popular Male Franchise Character #2, there will still be a Twitter uproar by fans who wanted their first sexual encounter to be anal sex performed in latex panda suits.

MovieBob and other "militant" SJWs are the problem with the SJW movement as a whole. If BreadTube was closer to the attitude in the tweet I quoted, people would be a thousand times more willing to listen to what they have to say. Being aggressive and pushy with the ignorant does absolutely nothing other than make them hate you more. You can put gay/trans people in entertainment and not demand it be their entire identity, and slowly normalize things.
