I didn't see anything. He may have a peephole camera and I know he's got cameras looking through his blinds.

It'll be hard to pick me giving him the evil eye out after he posted about everyone in my building getting hookers and having STDs though. People more or less universally hate him.

There are inexpensive devices that can spot the IR leds that many cameras use for their night vision. Theoretically it should be fairly easy to identify any hidden cameras if you check during the night time when the IR floods are on. The only problem is the camera detectors are very obvious when being used as they flash a bunch of LEDs at the camera, so Yanny would notice the device being used should he be looking outside or watching the camera feed. I'm not sure how discrete you could be. This video shows what I'm talking about.

edit: the detector in the video I linked doesn't look for IR leds, it looks for reflections off the hidden camera lens. My mistake. But I do know there are other designs that exploit the IR leds to identify hidden cameras. Either way, the tech exists to find his cameras and it's not expensive or complicated to do.

Ring also has a pretty decent security system that appears to be cheaper and more versatile than ADT et al, so I'm not sure if this is just him wanting to play with more gadgets or what.

And not only does he spy on his poor neighbors, but he broadcasts their activity on twitter when he thinks he's on to something. I wonder how many glares he gets in the hallways?

Call me optimistic, but he's apparently leveraged his condo against the recent loan he's taken out to cover legal and BCHRT costs. He's not working much if at all, nor is he collecting disability any longer, and every time he gets a shitty job people contact the employer which results in his employment offers being quickly revoked. I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of time before either he or his creditors sell the condo. Unless he wins some cash from the upcoming legal battles, which I think we all agree is unlikely, I just don't see how he'll ever repay his debt. There is real hope for his neighbors. And who knows, maybe he'll get toxic shock syndrome of the corn hole and end up catching corona in hospital.

Canadians are presently protected by the $2,000 per month CERB (Canadian Emergency Response Benefit). So far one can only claim 4 months but that might change if reopening doesn't happen soon. That may not seem like a lot but it is far more than disability or welfare benefits. If he had half a brain he would be practicing austerity and saving his money for essential expenses only. But he probably orders delivery most days instead of cooking a meal for himself.

I think it depends on your situation. I'm not eligible for any money from the govt because my income hasn't changed post-corona and I use tax havens for my business. It's not like everyone gets 2k; you have to meet certain requirements. I don't know enough about the program to know if he'd meet any of the requirements, but even if he does the free money won't last long enough to save his finances.

CERB is ridiculously easy to get though, I know several people who don't technically qualify because their earnings were not impacted by the pandemic at all who are taking it (at the same time many of the arbitrary requirements disqualified people who rightfully should have been eligible). I would be highly surprised if Jonny didn't lie on the few simple questions and isn't receiving it. One can only hope the government actually follows through on their promise to make people pay it back if they weren't eligible, but who knows. Still, you're right, it's not going to save his finances, especially not if he's spending it on things like home security systems.
