So Nick was in Congress on his Discord last night explaining things before the gaming stream with Drexel and Lady Rackets. I specifically asked him about the Zoom thing, as I had previously. Nick admits to not remembering that he said he didn't know who Zoom was, he thought he only asked PPP why he'd be leaving if Zoom came on and thought the response was "because he's a pedophile". The actual engagement goes something like:
Dick: Bring Zoom on, he wants to come on.
PPP: If Zoom comes on, I'm leaving.
Nick: Why?
PPP: Do you not know who Zoom is?
Nick: No, who is he?
PPP: Well, he's a pedophile.
At that point the three chuckle and it goes from there. Nick says he doesn't remember it and, quite frankly, I believe him. He hasn't lied to anyone that I know of, and until he starts doing it consistently I'm willing to believe him on this subject. Nick says he didn't want to bring Zoom on because he knows of the allegations and didn't want to risk it, but Dick saying to bring him on caused him to relent. Nick says Zoom will not be returning, as that sowing is all he needed to see it wasn't going to ever be worth the hassle. And before people start bitching about him bringing people on that cause drama when the stream isn't about it, I'd remind people that he brought Doug Tennapel on when EVS said to do it, he brought MBA on when Perfection said to do it, he brought Andy on when Tonka said to do it, and I'm sure there's others. If the guest says, "Yeah, let's do this" Nick will oblige even if we don't want him to.
Nick likes giving everyone a fair shake, but I think Zoom was going to be one of the few exceptions with him. he knew of Zoom's reputation prior to this, because of the JustDestiny incident where he was in a group call with Keemstar, Nick Deorio and others, and Zoom was trying to push the guy was a sex offender with the wrong dox. He even admits he knew the doxing and swatting allegations but the pedophile ones he was holding off on because that's a big leap to take. Zoom had been trying ever since that incident to get on the show and Nick hadn't given him the chance. He understands why people are pissed that he said he didn't know who Zoom was only to come back after and say he knew of the allegations, because he legitimately didn't remember saying he doesn't know who it was. I'd argue that you can see both sides: him saying eh legitimately didn't know who Zoom was, and the chuckle afterwards making it seem like it was a joke and they thought PPP took it a bit too far by going immediately to "pedophile".
Nick's problem is not putting his foot down with Dick said bring him on. He should have known there would be doxing at the very least from Zoom, which he didn't want to begin with. He put his platform and channel in danger by deciding to do it, and he understands that. I am in no way defending Nick on this subject or making excuses for him, just giving my opinion on what happened and telling you all what Nick said concerning it.
