This is a big part of why I suspect Phil just inadvertently triggered a devil's bargain. Nancy undoubtedly had the condo appraised, and if the number came up big enough (at the very least, we know it's bigger than what Phil claimed), it could be the justification for giving him a discharge.

We don't know what Nancy found yet. The discharge entry on the docket was an automatic thing. Now it's Nancy's turn to report her findings and recomendations to a judge. She could still very well claim DSP is attempting fraud and recommend anything. Or she could let him off completely.

Alright, dude. Those "moralfags" (not sure if this is the most fitting word) piss me off too but the fact that some people lost their entire months due to this is too much. Am I disappointed at this outcome? Of course I am, but it is what it is. Better to just wait for his next spergery, which most certainly will happen. I don't know why anyone is particularly surprised by his debt being discharged, he doesn't have have any particularly valuable assets. He grossly overpaid for his condo and Washington house, which isn't even offset by any equity that he's accrued. He's got massive credit debt. I mean the whole talk about the assets in his house are a mute point. He has like figurines and a dvd collection that he probly blew like 30k on but are practically worthless as far as liquid assets go. Common used furniture and electronics are also fairly worthless. He was never going to lose his house, debt collectors can place a lien but that's about it. Debt collection is all about actually being able to make some money, and DSP just doesn't have enough to be profitable.

The real question is what do you think he will use to beg for money now? It seems to me that DSP got a massive rebound from all this coverage, truly a legend.

Maybe I'm ignorant of bankruptcy, but how does it make any sense to the court and his creditors to take away his primary source of income. You're going to get what $2-3k for his old electronics, maybe $4k at a push?

Forgive me, I thought this WAS Nancy's decision. As a layman, it of course strikes me as odd that something would automatically get filed when the trustee isn't doing the filing, therefore the outcome could be getting suddenly over-ridden.

I'll reply to this with what I said on Feb. 1st I had an earlier post with a similar point, but I can't find it. Mentioning the $125,000 exemption.
The WA mortgage is still more valuable over the length of the loan than it's current value. The bank prefers the mortgage.

That said I'm making my prediction now. First up taxes get paid, then the lawyer will get their money. He will keep the Wakandoh, he'll lose some money on the CT condo when it's sold by the bank. All unsecured creditors will get pennies on the dollar.

Then they might seize some assets for payments. A beggathons will happen will step up and in the end all that he will really lose is the car which is a lease anyway.

I like all the salt either way.

Has anyone actually watched him in the last couple of years? Dude is already fucking miserable, stuck doing double shifts playing games he hates 6 days a week. Him being sad over having to move leaves him more or less in exactly the same spot he already was, but with less stress and more than zero disposable income.

In fact, he now has the luxury of not having to stream quite so much, or even cutting it down to single shifts and using that extra time to try to get into a completely different line of work that he hates slightly less. Won't be easy when google says he's the notorious stream jacker, but it could be done. Not that he likely will do any of these things, but a discharge in his case truly is a clean slate with nothing but opportunity than Nancy is shoving at him no matter how it plays out. I hope for his sake that he doesn't, but chances are that we'll watch him squander it
