Eh, it was a predictable outcome. If Phil was actually spanked for his actions I would've been more surprised. I was one of the 16.5% that voted he'll still get chapter 7.

Seen it done plenty of times before. What interests me is the ocean of salt it generated. When did the farms stop being about internet lols? Watch, joke, laugh. When did becoming invested in this nonsense become part of that three step process?
There has always been a very vocal "tard rage at everything a cow does" minority, and I have no problem with that, it wouldn't be the same if people were banned for getting MATI. It's what makes this site a nice cosy distraction.

And there are two outcomes for "discharge": liquidate the Wakando or let him skate altogether by selling a few meaningless trinkets.

Until we know what they plan to liquidate its premature to declare victory for DSP.

I think it is unlikely that an administrator to someone on their first bankruptcy who has been surprised by direct contact with detractors will look at a man already losing one of his homes and say "yes. we will take both of his homes and put him on the street. That will make this right"

I can't tell what's detractor anymore. I thought it was people laughing at Phil through other means that aren't his videos like those filthy criminal streams?

Has it evolved or something? Just confused. The types of new posters I don't ever see here are very similar to the posts I see on /v/ which is a bunch of false flag type of posts or ironic posting. Both entertaining but the contrarian standpoint gets a bit annoying when overdone.

I just want to see Phil be bad at videogames and everything basic in life, not delve into hoping he somehow ends up having to live in a box one day.

He won't be put on the street though, folks need to stop saying that. Auctioning the wakando would take several months and he'll walk away with $125k on top of whatever he's saved from the recent vest windfall when it happens - they don't kick you out the day the decision to sell is made.

In another blatant fraud case I've followed for a decade the guy filed bankruptcy and his $5 mill mansion was ordered sold at auction. It's been three years and he's still living in it rent-free from the day he filed since he can afford expensive lawyers who keep forcing the sale to be delayed.

We're getting crossover from people that only see Phil as the goof that jerked off on stream, which is how @Null said he views Phil. It takes time and autistic following to truly understand the pigroach parasite that is Philip Paul Burnell.

This is also why I maintain the incident may be the best thing that happened to Phil. It somehow IMPROVED his reputation. Phil is crazy bizarro world in every way.

good for him.

hopefully now he'll learn to live more within his means and take this clean slate as a valuable lesson.
Why would a God care to learn lessons that only lesser beings would value or care about.

He will only remember this even happening is only because it happened so close to his ascension other than that in the grand scheme of everything this "event" isn't even a spec of dust to a being of his power.

He went from the object of hate, to the object of ridicule. It's like an evolution to a court-jester.

That option (not the example given) also sounds pretty good, considering what Phil was facing prior to filing. Really, this just underlines that filing was the correct course of action and that he probably should have done so a bit earlier. In the case of liquidation, he doesn't even need to clean up the pigsty for the realtor like he was complaining about when the selling and downsizing option was initially floated to him

I honestly don't see any negative long term outcomes that Phil wasn't already in the middle of. He hit the credit wall where people stopped lending to him a while ago. He already has a shitty credit score that will take years to repair. The court is really just certifying that number at this point and giving him a do-over on credit cards

He never should have filed. He could've avoided all of this by selling the wakando and downsizing for at most 18 months before his next PigMansion adventure.

His entire universe and identity as a responsible adult who does everything correct is invested in keeping the wakando while screwing over a bunch of people he owes 6-figures to.

When the final order is put in, will it enumerate which debts are discharged? Like, each separate credit card debt? We know some debt can't be/ is unlikely to be discharged, so I'm interested to see how much he ends up with.

It's 12 o'clock...and time for his nap!

And yet a bankruptcy attorney, when consulted, said "Bankruptcy looks like the right option for you Phil". Of course we can point out changes he should have made along the way. People don't get where he is by making the right choices

The screwing over part is happening. I have read the insistence on keeping the Washington residence much more as "too lazy to get this place in shape to sell and keep it that way, find another place and do the work of moving, because it is kind of a pain in the dick". I don't know how much this will bother him if someone else is now responsible for doing a big chunk of this

Don't you think he'll also get to open the pitybux tap to full blast if he does lose the current residence?

Did somebody ping the docket last night? I see the last update showing 1 AM PST from today (May 7).

Yep, right before that bankruptcy-mill attorney said "That'll be $1200, in advance". In the history of that firm how many people during their initial BK consultation do you think were told "Hey you know what? After examining your circumstances you really don't need to file bankruptcy, just do X instead and have a good day!"? That's like taking your car in for the 'free diagnostics' and having the mechanic come back and say "Damn, your car doesn't need any work at all!"

Probably. Will it work? Probably. I'm just here for the entertainment and losing the wakndo after the lengths he's gone to and the lies he's told in order to keep it would be the most entertaining.

Let me get this straight. There is an option here to take $1,200 non-refundable up front and then say "you're just bad at prioritizing your bills. this doesn't qualify, my job is done here, i don't need to do anything else", and you're saying Rochelle doesn't take that option when available? I think she does

This is a big part of why I suspect Phil just inadvertently triggered a devil's bargain. Nancy undoubtedly had the condo appraised, and if the number came up big enough (at the very least, we know it's bigger than what Phil claimed), it could be the justification for giving him a discharge.

Come on, he overspent on credit cards. The two outcomes were "payment plan" or "discharge".

Even if his streaming stuff got sold off, there's an extremely excellent chance that Kat would have used her income to buy new streaming stuff. She currently benefits from 100k worth of annual paypig largesse. Kicking in a few hundred to keep that gravy train going is a no-brainer, even for a woman who chose to leave another man for Phil Burnell. If she was dumb enough to throw that away, his parents can surely see the value in buying him a few toys he can monetize at that rate instead of sending him a few grand every few months until they die

I have never understood why people thought Phil lying about his electronics was a big deal. Maybe I'm ignorant of bankruptcy, but how does it make any sense to the court and his creditors to take away his primary source of income. You're going to get what $2-3k for his old electronics, maybe $4k at a push?

Well then after that you're done, Phil wouldn't be able to pay the new payments and everyone loses out. You've fucked Phil financially, the creditors lose out. Even if they legally can take these items, it doesn't benefit either party.

I'm surprised he got this debt discharged, but realistically I think the worst that Phil would have got was having to downsize. Due to his income, downsizing and foreclosing on the Condo would probably have allowed him to live pretty comfortably - although with a severely damaged ego.
